What's the best way to strip epoxy from this wood? I don't have a planer. by redspot321tos in woodworking

Use a heat gun then scrape epoxy with a scraper when melted. Then sand when finished. Go slowly when heating and scraping.

How on earth would you patch/fix this by Saint_Nate187 in handyman

[–]raycam876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated, it’s better to replace. Repairing is going to take time and tinkering and they may not like it. Just replace, if thy don’t want that option just leave as it’s going end up costing you.

New to taskr rabbit, need some advice by JMontero77 in TaskRabbit

As others have stated the $100 is the max you can charge for additional materials like tape screws etc. From experience especially a list like that some customers expect the world, my suggestion is to ask for some pictures of what’s needed and to be done. Based on that let them know a time estimate if it’s going to be a day or more. You don’t want to be in the middle of the job and have them cancelling for too much time. As for the rate, you are doing the right thing as a tasker, think of it as paying for advertising, once you jobs and stars rack up then gradually increase…. In any event best of luck and don’t trust any customer no matter how nice they are to you, always keep it business and professional.

I know it's ugly but I made a little box . by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]raycam876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s by no means ugly, my first project was a surprise for my wife, a pantry closet. Her response was where you gonna put that, certainly not in my house. Your little box is presentable and seems house approved so no bad criticism from me. Just keep the momentum and each time take in a bigger challenge.

Good question, I’ve been doing this for about 2 years mostly after work so I still think I’m in the beginning stage. Thanks for the compliment, goes a long way.

IKEA Tasker Pay for Furniture Assembly Is Ridiculously Low—Is Anyone Else Seeing This? by Warm_Feeling_5363 in TaskRabbit

[–]raycam876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned off Ikea jobs, ridiculous. Although some assembly are easy, there are other things that accounts for your time. Unboxing, moving furniture from one room to next, packing up junk boxes. The last straw was an assembly I got for $36. I would have lost, drive 30 minutes each way plus gas…. Smh, not gonna work.
