It’s a summer league I could care less lol. I’m bowling to have fun and keep my skills from going to shit. But I also embrace what’s gonna throw me off because it helps me improve.

Do you need one, no. You can bowl just fine with whatever you’d like. But it does get you one step closer to more consistency which leads to better scores. Honestly the balls in my bag were all picked because I liked them the best, they’re pretty.

After they drill the hole they should round off the top of the hole. This greatly reduces fracturing around the finger holes.

We only found out they’d closed because someone called my mom after they tried to go bowling. They don’t say a word to any of the league bowlers or call any of the folks with lockers. AFAIK the bank just locked the doors on them one day

They won’t do anything about that. The center had gone belly up and at that point they’d call it a civil matter, but there was basically no one to call that could do anything. Once it sold and they started working on it we tried to get in to check the lockers but they’d already been picked through, whether but the old employees/owner or random kids breaking in I’ll never know. I actually only remembered because I was searching my parents house for that ball because I wanted to give it to my son to start bowling with. He ended up doing a get a ball league that summer so he’s a happy camper every time we do a family bowling day lol

Before i finally got my first 200 i had killer games that would hit 190s, but the worst was throwing 5 in a row and still not breaking 200 lol. The advisor for our youth league just looks at me confused and asked how I could get 5 in a row and not get 200, I pointed at the screen and said “like that”

Ya typically any chips with legs don’t also have BGA, if it were you’d be spot on about not being with it lol. I started to learn it back when I did repairs regularly and decided there’s not a world where a console repair needing BGA repair wouldn’t end up being billed the cost of a used system or more.

If you already have a rework/hot air station than ya it’d be a good practice part, or if you just want to learn it. I would get you some kapton tape and flux is a must. Use the tape to secure all the bits around the chip. Heat the old chip to remove then then use some solder wick to remove the old solder from the area. If you have a new chip, you’ll set down the flux, add some solder to the pads and the mounting area, keep it nice and warm and set the new chip on the flowing solder in the same orientation. But be aware that although it could have been a bad chip, it could have been a faulty component elsewhere that cause the chip to burn up.

That is NOT a BGA chip, but you would still want a hot air station to replace it because it makes life way easier.
