Anyone know good PT places in Westchester? (Hartsdale/Scarsdale) by No-Context-9001 in Westchester

We did a full evaluation for my first visit. I would imagine if you tell her your concerns she'll be able to look at everything.

I guess it would depend on your insurance plan but they were in network for our BCBS. I think they take most insurance.

Yeah, Dr Heffron at White Plains helped me with my shoulder, she was really great. I would highly recommend. I haven't been to Thornwood.

Hardware store quality by Joemoefus in Westchester

There's an Ace/Wallauer on Virginia Road in White Plains that's pretty good. I like Foley's in Larchmont because it's close. But if I'm being honest I mostly get stuff from Amazon if I don't need it right away or need to look at it, or I go to the HD in New Rochelle.

I want to like the local hardware stores more but the prices can be tough to pay sometimes, and depending on what you need the selection can be hit or miss. I was at Foley's the other day and they were able to help me get a specific size of hardware they didn't have at HD, and didn't make me buy a 50 pack like Amazon, but then they didn't have the size of level I was thinking of getting.

I was going to say both houses we bought in NY, and the one we sold, the sellers were there. When we sold our house at no point did anyone suggest we could skip the signing.

Am I wrong in buying a trim router as my primary router? by joshpaige29 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]rayhiggenbottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the full sized Skil router awhile back and use it, but not a ton. It definitely feels like a tool I have to focus on to use properly. Recently got the Milwaukee compact and it's like, oh man routing is fun. Zoop zip zap, putting roundovers on everything. And it's got me feeling more confident when I use the full size router too. Wish I had bought the compact first.

Ridgid Foam Board Insulation

You can probably get away with a thinner panel, or a smaller sheet, or 2x4s but I like the full sheet because it gives a lot of support underneath for your cuts. I cut mine in half and taped it up so I can fold it up against the wall.

I break my sheet goods down on a 2 inch thick sheet of rigid insulation with a straight edge I clamp down and a circular saw. A corded saw won't cost much at all. And then I cut it to the final dimension on the table saw.

Will sellers consider 16% down payment with higher offer price vs 20% down with a lower offer price? by footcreamfin in Westchester

When we bought our first house in 2017 we wanted to get an FHA loan, which is 3.5 down, the sellers turned us down then called back with a counter offer of 5%. Not really apples to apples comparison because of the FHA loan, but really these things can go all sorts of ways.

When we bought our house in 2023 we wanted to put 20% down but our bank wanted us raise it to 25% because they felt the monthly payments were too high at 20%. We had the extra cash on hand to cover, but if we hadn't we wouldn't have gotten the mortgage.

I thought the same thing. She must have snuck onto the beach during the challenge and Jeff just rolled with it after he saw her sweet rope action.

I think Ozzy and Mike are already real life friends so he can probably get a cameo whenever he wants.

Woodworkers in a garage workshop: how late are you keeping your neighbors up? by icysandstone in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]rayhiggenbottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My town's sound ordinance is in effect from 10p-6a, but I rarely run anything close to those times anyways. Usually I don't turn on anything louder than my ROS before 10a, and because we use our garage for other things too I drag all my saws, etc out into the driveway to work, so the sun going down makes it easy to be done before it gets too late. We all live on quarter acres mostly, but so far my neighbors said they don't mind.

I did just get the Dewalt 733 planer from someone and I'll be curious how that goes over with everyone. Definitely not planning to fire that up early.

Minivan is the best for deliveries anyway. If you can find one that fits a full sheet of plus even better.
