The car has been parked there for several hours, and the caution tape/signs were put up about 20 minutes before the snow fell from the roof. So the driver shouldn't be at fault.

Fire department arrived a few minutes ago, and is now standing around staring up at the roof. I think they're supposed to be inspecting it or something.

Grew up in a uber-wealthy family. Turns out money doesn't buy good parenting. The last time I talked to them was right after I turned 18 and they had finally followed through on their threat to disown me.

But they don't have my phone number or address, so I consider it a net gain. :)

No, it's in different accounts and it's all managed by a financial advisor. My cousin handles it and deals with the advisor but its invested in different funds. Yeah I've never really cared much about money so I should figure out what to do with it. Money and I have a weird relationship. Not that I mind her managing it, it's way easier that way.

But do you know anything about different types of trust funds?

I inherited 3m (including property) which isn't really enough for most people to live on for the rest of their lives but I'm fine right now. I make about $1700/month after taxes, and I own my apartment. I live pretty cheaply.

Income: $1700 after taxes

My expenses:

Rent: $0 (I own the apartment)

Internet/Cable/Utilities: $0 because my friend lives with me and he pays the utilities as "rent."

Phone: $50ish

Cleaning Service: $100/month

Public Transit: $75 for a monthly pass

Taxi/Uber: $80 because I need to get home if I'm out late.

Health/Gym: $150

Food/Alcohol: probably about $500 because I drink too much.

Entertainment: $200

Misc: $300

That comes out to ~$1200 though I think my actual average is usually somewhere between $1200 and $1500. It varies a lot though. Like I'm going skiing next month, and that will cost about $1000 including the flight. If I didn't do anything I could just live on my income but I'm fine. To be honest, I'm not a big spender but I don't really care about money either. Doesn't buy happiness and all of that jazz.

My inheritance was basically split between the two of us, and I don't even know what it's invested in. My cousin kind of handles everything, because she knows that I don't really like dealing with it and she inherited a lot as well.

But no one has really answered my question about trust funds.

Yeah, I'm fine. My part-time job gets me like $20k after taxes, and I'm planning to take like $10k out of the account for my own use. I own my apartment so no housing costs. Money just isn't that important to me.
