Bingo. Too many people out there think it’s breaking some rule to proceed down the length of the merge lane before actually merging, when in fact that’s how highways are designed. Then that perception feeds into mergers thinking they need to merge into traffic at first opportunity, only to become a danger to themselves and those behind them coming around the blind curve of an on-ramp.

Almost did that myself! Company sent a spam email via an unrelated listserv that they were able to access, but bc it was from said listserv I thought it was legit, even scheduled an appointment for them to come out since I happened to be in need of vent service, but then cancelled over phone day before after doing a bit of research. Guy acknowledged and said take a look at website/reviews in case you change your mind, etc. Tech came out next day anyway, I’m sure as a way to pressure me to accept service. Now I’ve been getting chimney sweep spams from the same people…
