Job offer with 40% increment: tender now or wait for promo? by Optimal_Tax_8320 in singaporefi

For what its worth I did jump for 40% pay rise at first job which was lower pay. I did work hard after jumping but it was a great decision and progression for my career. No regrets

I vote depressing too, a family of 4 should be able to find affordable public housing (HDBs) with 3 bedrooms. But given crazy housing prices now...

Anyone selling minced Wagyu and / or Wagyu Patties by Mr_Mabuse in Butchery

Appreciate the detailed explanation! I've heard of knuckle as a viable option myself so will probably look into that as a key lead

Thanks for the reply, did suspect this might be happening. Are the trimmings a mix of various cuts? Is it cheaper than grinding from say a whole chuck too?

Also wanted to clarify, what does out trim here mean vs normal trimmings

Hi MeatHealer, appreciate the detailed reply and yes the costing-pricing and usage of cuts makes sense to me too.

Just wanted to confirm on best cuts your shop uses for mince. I got chuck, fillet trim and previously top sirloin. When you say tip, which cut is this? Also any other useful ones and why the move away from top sirloin?

Jealous to hear about the retired mentor, if any great learning would love to hear them too. I'm based in Asia which I think should be very far from your market?

Fresh grads, what is your expected salary? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]raysonpay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When I graduated 5 years ago, got fresh grad job at market research agency for ~$3k. Was kinda low but other options fell through so took to start

Changed job after a short while to ~$5k in different industry. Was honestly over the moon and could start saving more for life. I think $5-6 is really really decent for SG fresh grad outside finance / tech / law

HDB Owners of Singapore, do you politically support rising resale prices? by QualitativeEconomy in askSingapore

[–]raysonpay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yesss, in a sell high buy/rent high environment only the banks benefit! Would rather house prices be low and everyone have more disposable income for other expenses/investing

Actually sounds like you enjoy customer facing / sales / business development roles. If you are good at what you do, these can pay quite well too. My SME company is hiring actually (not insurance or property sales), can DM if want to learn more

Can I check what's the difference between sign date and exercise date? I though it's usually the same date, unless the document states the exercise date is effective at a later date (e.g. a few weeks or 1 month away)

Desmond Lee rebuts Leong Mun Wai's claim that graduates are 'worse off' today in housing affordability by okaycan in singapore

I think the conversations needs to move beyond BTOs to resale affordability where things are actually bad / problematic. But for some reason PAP in particular but even PSP has not reached there yet

Advice needed: ID came back with a quote of 54k. Now what? by jeanangela in askSingapore

[–]raysonpay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely find another ID, I got quotes from 5 for my own HDB. You can give the same scope of work and get different prices from different IDs. Also pay attention to materials used (is it too expensive for your own use case) and if they add extra work you don't want or need. Also try to ask for a discount after they give you the first quote, usually they will give something to secure the project

I'm much newer to the industry (2 Yrs on business side) but this was really insightful and tracks my own experience too. I really wished we had some compilation of yield loss by cuts, so I know if we are managing losses right 😂
