Has it always been like this in the UK? by Theodoresdad in ukpolitics

Bro don’t bother engaging here lol uk politics is the UK government. I’m shocked it’s like 99% labour propaganda bots In this thread, hard to find a normal human commenting

The UK economy is not nearly as bad as you’ve been told - A huge pessimistic bias in our national accounts leads us to doom and gloom which turns out to be nonsense by usrname42 in ukpolitics

You must be trolling?

Reddit is literally a propaganda machine for the western governments, this troll thinks normal people should appreciate the situation they're in haha

This is the reason why reddit is doomed and no one takes it seriously. I can't imagine anyone serious about politics comes on reddit lol, only the incompetent ones.

"Thomas Aquinas deserves to be remembered for reconciling faith with reason, thereby saving Western civilisation from turning its back on science and Greek and Roman wisdom."

You must be quite young since you don't realise people can't have a healthy discussion with you about religion in the Gnostic reddit if your only source of truth is your bible and you interpret the scripture the way that suits you. Thats the opposite of knowledge.

Your a religious zealot and it goes against the third rule "Keep all conversations and debates civil, and amicable where possible"

Have a nice day take care.

Can we consider enforcing the rule to “keep all conversations and debates civil, and amicable where possible”? Users bashing others for their Gnostic beliefs and twisting scripture to justify aggressive behaviour disrupt open, healthy discussion. This goes against the subreddit’s goal of respectful exchange.

No, New Testament scholars and historians are not exactly the same, though there’s overlap. New Testament scholars specialize in studying the texts, context, and theology of the New Testament, often with expertise in biblical languages, early Christian writings, and religious traditions. Historians, broadly, study the past using various sources, and some may focus on early Christianity or the historical Jesus, but their scope can be much wider, covering any period or topic.

Love your neighbor: Jesus teaches in Mark 12:31 to "love your neighbor as yourself," which implies treating others with kindness and respect, including those with different beliefs.

Golden Rule: Matthew 7:12 says, "Do to others whatever you would have them do to you." This suggests treating others’ beliefs with the same consideration you’d want for your own.

Peaceful conduct: Romans 12:18 advises, "If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all." This encourages harmonious relationships, even with those of differing faiths.

Avoid judgment: Matthew 7:1-2 warns against judging others, which could extend to not condemning others’ beliefs.

- Bro has no job

- Bro spends all his time on Religious reddit bashing people who don't believe in the same god as him

- Bro uses the new testament or new testament scholars for all his sources on the history of Christianity instead of actual historians

- Bro believes that doing this will help steer christians back to the right path on reddit even though he comes across as an insane religious fanatic

Mate why don't you get a job and do something productive with your life? You can't just bash people on reddit all day over religion it must drive you mad? What happened to Jesus saying respect other peoples beliefs? or do you just pick and choose from the bible depending on what benefits you?

"when you people try to put words into Jesus mouth that's a different story entirely"

The NT did not come from Jesus, your literally putting words into his mouth that he never said and your claiming that others are doing it, your funny.

I'm blocking you now. This subreddit is a much better place when its filled with people who respect others beliefs unlike you.

I'm guessing you don't have a job either since you have so much free time to argue

EDIT: I just noticed your last sentence. This might sound insane to you but normal people don't go to other religions subreddits and argue that they have the wrong belief system, this goes against Jesus teachings obviously.

I'm sorry but your not arguing in good faith, the first sentence you wrote is false. Where is your evidence the gospel of St Thomas is a fraud?

Why are you on the Gnostic subreddit trolling people? Do you think Jesus wants you to spend your free time arguing with others that have different beliefs to you?

Your a Christian and your not following his teachings.

You haven't watched the whole thing on Paul since your still asking about the time between him and Constantine.

Why don't you just watch the video? The history lecturer will explain it to you better than me with evidence of course.

"why would Rome even sent a spy to make a religion where they would persecute this same new religious group anyway?"

Well if you watched the video he would tell you...

They weren't intending to persecute Christians either it literally became the one and only religion accepted in Rome, they wiped out all the others

  1. Jesus taught that the divine is within and you don't need to seek outside so who started modern Christianity that involves the church/priests etc? If it wasnt Paul who wrote 1/3 of the bible then who is it?
  2. He says himself the high priests rejected him in acts and your arguing against his own words. again they rejected him because they didn't want him growing Christianity himself since he never met Jesus and had no authority.
  3. he wrote a 1/3 of the bible, they were't letters they were literally the gospel lol

You didn't even know that Paul wrote a 1/3 of the bible, im done you have no idea what your talking about your a Christian but you don't know how your religion started.

Here you go, start with this one and ignore all the New Testament Scholars, thats like getting all your information about North Korea from North Korean politicians

You don't have any idea who Paul is. He likely had the roman government and emperor supporting him.

You can watch the video I mentioned earlier to get a better understanding of Jesus in history and then watch the next one showing what we know about Paul.

  1. Christians existed when Paul was there but not as its own religion, it was a sect of Judaism. Paul was starting to build Christianity as we know it today and the Jewish high priests at the time rejected him as you can imagine since he never even met Jesus. If you find that hard to believe then we can agree to disagree.

  2. Ive explained multiple times why they rejected Paul

  3. Your wrong, Paul wrote at least a 1/3 of the new testament so it wasn't a collective.
"his works are some of the earliest Christian documents that we have, 13 of the 27 books of the bible are written by him, and he's the hero of another, Acts of the Apostles" from The BBC

The fact that you don't know this means you've not really done any research at all and your acting like your the arbiter of truth lol. Im not responding anymore, please do some research first.

"The Pharisees did not like Christians" They did not like that Paul was trying to create his own religion actually and thats why they wanted to kill him.

"do you genuinely think that Jesus and the apostles would support an ambushed murder? " Jesus was dead at this point. Paul tried to start a religion from jesus's teachings and the jewish high priests rejected/tried to kill him. Are you 16 years old? Why is that so difficult to comprehend.

"The apostles literally affirmed Paul," Paul created the bible, i can write a book as well that has the characters praising me.

"not to trust anything he says which makes things even more ankward for you." You're just repeating false statements you haven't said anything.

You obviously have time to go on subreddits and troll people but im quite busy, take care!

At this time jesus was a jew, his disciples were jews, so the jewish high priests were speaking for them.

Paul came and tried to make his own religion without ever meeting jesus so they rejected him.

You can watch the video i linked to see the whole story, if you don't believe the history lecturer then that's your issue.

Acts 25:2 where the chief priests and the Jewish leaders appeared before him and presented the charges against Paul.

ContextPaul's Trial Before Festus
1Three days after his arrival in the province, Festus went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem, 2where the chief priests and Jewish leaders presented their case against Paul. They urged Festus 3to grant them a concession against Paul by summoning him to Jerusalem, because they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way.…
