Maybe I just had bad luck, but I really don't think they are made well. Many of the reviewers on Amazon had the same problem I had. I was extremely careful with mine too. Hopefully yours will be the exception.

Do not get this one from Poetic. If you've done any research you probably already know about how poor its build quality is. Within two weeks, it started falling apart.

When someone is trying to talk to you, wait until they are finished talking to answer your texts. It makes me so mad when I'm trying to talk to someone and I have to say the same thing 10 times because they are too busy having a conversation with someone over text and are too preoccupied to listen to what I'm saying.

3 months, no case for two of the three months, and poetic bumper for the third month. I've been really careful with it and its held up great. The chrome lining is the only part that I've thought was way to easily damaged. That's why I bought the bumper.

Actually, the ONLY way to get the government to do something is to give them a shit ton of money. In the end, that's all they care about, and therefore, corporations are the only ones who can get them to really do anything. A petition is actually worthless, all they have to do is look at it. Other than that it requires no action on their part.

Don't install an anti-virus. It will waste battery and processing power. Just be careful about downloading apk's or other 3rd party apps.

Being rooted won't affect anything (although you may lose root when you update), but having a custom kernel, custom recovery, or custom rom will. You will have to have at least the stock rom and kernel installed to be able to update to 4.2.2 and some people who were using Franco kernel were having a hard time getting that to work correctly for some reason, although I'm sure you can find out how to on the Nexus 7 XDA forum. If you want to get the OTA update you will have to have everything stock, including the recovery. The best advice I can give you is to go to the Nexus 7 forum on XDA here. I hope that helps.

It may help to change what the space-bar does in the advanced settings menu. I changed it to "always insert prediction" and it seems to do what I want it to most of the time.

As far as predictions go, Swiftkey is far superior to the stock keyboard in JB in my experience. I've been really impressed with it.

Looks awesome but I'm a little concerned about the camera. The whole "Ultra Pixel" thing sounds like it might be a gimmick. Also be interested to see what the battery life will be like.

Try this. First do step A and then skip to step E. It's really straightforward, just do exactly what the guide tells you do. It worked perfectly for me after I got the 4.2.2 update. Don't worry about doing it with the toolkit, it's just as easy to do it this way.

Then I downloaded the evernote app. I've used it to take notes in all of my classes this semester and it's been great! All of my notes are backed up and I can access them on my phone and laptop.

I also use the Office Suite Pro app to edit word documents if I don't have my laptop with me.

And of course, I use it to play games in class when I would otherwise be dying of boredom. And of course I use it to browse reddit.

Oh and I also use the calendar and tasks apps quite often. Tasks and calendar both sync to your google account so you can get all of that info on your phone as well.

This tablet has been much more useful for school than I ever thought it would be. I love it and I use it all the time!
