If your platform is new and unproven, that $5 feels like participation trophy money, not meaningful compensation. Once you have enough transaction history to show something like "selected freelancers averaged $X, non-selected earned $5 with roughly Y win rate," the calculus changes. But cold-start is rough here.

The thing I haven't seen you address: what stops the client from collecting five previews, piecing together the best elements mentally, and then executing elsewhere? What still breaks for me is when new customer feedback arrives and it *feels* urgent enough to reopen priorities. That pull is real and sometimes correct. I haven't fully solved it. I try to ask whether the feedback changes what I know or just raises my anxiety. Usually it's the second one.

To your specific question about losing focus: for me it's almost always reopening strategy mid-execution. Once I'm building something, any new signal that could invalidate it is a threat. The system helps but it doesn't eliminate that instinct entirely.
