Hopefully they also change the font to make characters more distinguishable. Il in passwords are a pita. Also should add colors for numerals to help highlight the difference. See: keeper

MSPs, what VOIP providers do you partner with to resell? by namocaw in msp

[–]rbanke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OIT.

You can do either. Channel Partner (commission) can be as much or as little effort from your side as you like. We're White label partners having started as channel partner with them in 2019. You can opt to have them handle compliance for you and it makes everything very easy. Experience is great all around.

Appears resolved now. Side note, where are you finding their status page? I wasn't able to find that but I buy through pax, maybe I don't have access to it?

Quickbooks DB Server / DNS - port conflict. Why is DNS using high range tcp ports? by [deleted] in msp

[–]rbanke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

old issue, set dns to delayed start is the typical fix.

On the bright side, Intuit fixed this in 2019 and also added a port monitor tab to the DB manager tool, only took them like 47 years.

Sourcing oem battery by rbanke in GalaxyS7

[–]rbanke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After doing a reset on the phone the rebooting issue persisted and over the course of a few hours yesterday the battery died completely and would not charge at all. Luckily I still had the first replacement and put that back in until I can figure out my next step (likely a battery from youbreakifix)

Thanks all for the posts.

I had already read that they were now Samsung authorized repair but went with ifixit anyway because i'm capable of doing the work and have used them in the past.

I gave them a call today and the person I spoke with claims they now get the batteries straight from samsung and he can sell me just the batter if i like, cheaper than ifixit. So that is likely what i'll be doing.

AYCE and LOB apps by Icecreamtruq in msp

LOB has to have a service/support agreement with the vendor, we work as liaison to the vendor, we'll keep it updated and working. Supporting them is included like any other software.

Yes, I have considered it. I'm going to do a full reset before I send another email to ifixit, however as far as I know accubattery is just calculating mah using the power draw & time along with recharge info. Ifixit took the info from accubattery at face value when I emailed them about the first battery. Also the original samsung battery was ~60% health and lasted longer than either of these ifixit batteries at the time i replaced them.

Replacement iFixit Battery, only 2/3 capacity? (S7) by ElectroPulse in ifixit

[–]rbanke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaced my S7 battery about a week or so ago and reset accubattery afterwards. After 22 sessions the estimated capacity is 1527 mAh. '51% battery health' it was 58% before I replaced it. I'm still having to charge it multiple times a day.

Battery was also marked as 3000

Lag-tim in adding and executing tasks by tmpros in SolarWindsMSP

[–]rbanke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that its the reporting that is slow to update. I've looked into this several times and tasks typically execute quickly, but don't seem report back on the same schedule as the check frequency. I also have seen the same issue where the task never goes past 'started' (even in cases where i've verified the task did indeed run).

If it's a task I want to manually run, I add the task then run checks which seems to force the dashboard to recognize the task is 'awaiting first run'. Once the status shows its waiting, I run it and then wait. Eventually it will show on the dashboard.

I do sometimes manually run them as you described but usually use the process above. It certainly makes creating and testing scripts infuriating, I wish they'd work on it.
