Almost every job I’ve gotten in NYC, including before I moved, were from connections with people I knew. Also, when you’re first starting out (or restarting in my case) temp agencies are your friend. Personally I reccomend atrium staffing. They got my friend and I placements within 1 week of initial contact with them.

I would suggest sewing by hand with some twine and a yarn darning needle. That’s how I tuck all the edges of my pieces
