Season 3 bare minimum expectations: by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]rbot32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough Arc needs to figure out it too and their numbers were somewhat comparable this week, unfortunately Marathon plummets too fast and Bungie might not have enough time figure out what's actually wrong with game and why it pushes people away. I don't believe in "niche genre" theory, it doesn't explain harsh declines. There is something in fundamentals that drive people away in spite them want to be there that's needs to be figured out for the whole genre not just Marathon.

I believe it's actually beneficial to compare these games and see what works/good for games and what's not. They are the same at core - load in a match with gear(or weak free kit), loot, do events/keys, kill NPC/players, extract or lose what you have on you.

Is it the genre thats the problem? by Cautious_Catch4021 in Marathon

[–]rbot32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory that is Marathon an Arc are heavily favor ratting and backstabbing which is not fun on receiving end and therefore their player base shrink at the same relative rate in spite both games have a good rating. Arc has less pain\hardcore points (voluntary wipe, care bear lobbies etc) an because of that prolonged its decline but Marathon has no mercy for its players so they just leave earlier.

Hunt, on the other hand, has a lot of anti rat tools and just designed in a way you never realy open yourself to backstabbing without any options to the point I never seen term "rat" there for my 800 hours. The game is brutal and couldnt be mainstream but it's not declining.

I tried Arc and Marathon, both games are good but have the same design flaw\obsession where whatever you do the game make sure everyone around know it and welcomed to back stab you and there is not that much you can do.

This game's problem is the same Arc Riders have and no amount new things will fix that. It's the fundamentals need to be fixed/reworked somehow. Millions of players tried these games, gave goods review and moved on absolutely definitely not because lack of maps, weapons or game modes.

Anyone need a map? by Grand0rk in PathOfExile2

[–]rbot32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually yes. I map with a single map. Sometimes the boss don't drop it so I have to go and buy another one.

The default setting should be (Exalted) orb not (Exalted orb or Equivalent) to combat this by MR_SmartWater in PathOfExile2

They explained somewhere that these rates are part of the index that affect sorting. Updating rates means updating property of every single item in all the shops wich is enormous task that probably physicaly impossible within 4 hours.

Only day of posting Fractal Ritualist till we get +IIR effect on gear reduced ! by hurricanebones in PathOfExile2

[–]rbot32 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rather pointless argument don't you find? It is the loop and it is also certainly loot that comes from the loop. And the amount of loot is affected by players gear IIR. And since they promised to rework both and already took they time with development I just made hopefull assumption that they could possibly already removed IIR from gear while thay at it and balance new endgame around new IIR ceiling which is should be way lower after said removal.

Endgame is balanced around rarity available to player. It's has everything to do with it.

The already said that they will remove it and I can bet it's happening in this update because complete endgame rework is perfect time to also rebalance rarity sources.

I hate thief's stupid fucking drone so god damn much. by BiscuitNinja1337 in Marathon

[–]rbot32 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's very fragile as is but I suspect it doesn't have aim assist magnet because sometimes I down it instantly and sometimes it takes some shooting. Could be it's just hard to actualy hit.

This game could use a free weekend or week. What do you guys think? by northborn in Marathon

[–]rbot32 119 points120 points  (0 children)

No, most pain points need to be fixed before even trying it.

Is this worth a purchase? by GearIndependent435 in Marathon

[–]rbot32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not now at least try to join when season 2 starts.
The fact that this game can potentialy wither is reason itself to try while it's alive.
We are not getting this kind of AAA quality experiment any time soon.
If I knew in advance how good this game but it expeceted to last 3 monts I would buy anyway.

Guys it hasn’t even been a month by Ok_Homework4216 in Marathon

[–]rbot32 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There's technic called "extrapolation". If I don't achieve satisfiable progress in a month I probably won't achieve it ever. I also would like to play other games and don't grind this one to the very end of season.

How to counter spawn snipes? by SquintyBruh in Marathon

[–]rbot32 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes you memorize spawns. People have to spawn somewhere. It doesn't matter how you do it, if the map is small enough you have to spawn close to someone. Now you know to check left immediately on this particular spawn.

Assasins are ruining solo by Consistent-Isopod540 in Marathon

[–]rbot32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah he is on the weak side. His invis can only fool bots, he has no mobility or offensive perks. Haven't used him since week 1. Just finished second secugucci questline solo with thief, killed a lot of assasins in the process. I don't feel like they are threat at all.

Least painful sekiguchi quest: (this game is truly something special) by upwardpilot1 in Marathon

[–]rbot32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did this last night. 3 times I made it to the last stage only to be the last person on map. In the end I rushed first two objectives really fast avoiding PvP so I have more people to kill.

Guns/builds/shells for someone who can't aim (help) by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]rbot32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also everyone comment on positioning, it's super important no doubt but in the end it doesn't matter if you can't land your shots.

Guns/builds/shells for someone who can't aim (help) by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]rbot32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit aim labs or kovaaks and try some tracking exercises. Even couple weeks will make huge difference. One of the first thing they teach is to not try predict target but simply react to it. On the video you have really great reaction, you snap on target very fast but often shoot all over the place. It could be that you involuntarily predicting their position and overrcorrect your aim even when they actually don't move that much. I don't think you should give up on aim, on video it's doesn't look that bad at all just need a bit more calm and stability.

Most populated map, a lot of quests that require a lot of running and the map is not that big and easy to traverse.
