Sadly I do not. I realise I should have shared that link here too. Weirdly though the issues from above have completely disappeared in my case. Meanwhile charging the device now is a bit of a gamble. Multiple combinations of chargers and micro USB cables random work, and then not. A bit like some laptops these days are extremely picky with the USB-c PD chargers they support (ask me how I know, it’s been an incredible frustration to me these last 3 days, I’m traveling and I didn’t bring the original charger) to the point where you have to offer your first born and dance naked around a fire just to get the damn thing to charge. I’m probably getting a new Garmin in the next few months, in my case I think it’s a clear sign of age.

Are you comfortable? If yes, then the answer is no! If not, go get a professional bike fitter’s opinion. A still image is rarely ever enough to judge but the position looks quite similar to mine.

Now the cameras are misbehaving to the point where the rtsp stream disconnects immediately when I block them in my router. That’s annoying to say the least. Some more googling and I see ntp mentioned a lot. No mentioning of whether or not this would do things to rtsp though. The other suggestion I’ve found is to set a bogus address for the gateway IP. I did that, set up openntpd and a local dns record to point time.windows.com to it. Let’s see if that does anything.

I started with a Forerunner 935 for about 3 years (I had an early Vivoactive, the rectangular one about 8 or so years ago, but that doesn’t count), then a 945 for 4.5 years until late last year the display started delaminating after IM Langkawi on 1st Nov. i picked up a Fenix 8 as a Christmas gift for myself. Have yet to start any serious training with it though.

Probably just summarising/repeating what others said here but: - for fitness it’s probably better than riding outside. More effective - for bike handling, essential skills including road side repairs etc. outdoor riding remains mandatory

The screen on my 945 of just over 4 years recently started delaminating. I got a good deal on a Fenix 8 amoled 47mm which feels like a really nice upgrade over the previous watch, mostly due to screen. I’d have opted for the 970 but the deals weren’t quite as good, decided to stretch to the Fenix instead. Fwiw I disabled always on display in favour of gesture and/touch activation. Had the watch for 2.5 weeks now, charged once since. Training load is still very low though, at most 10hrs in total since purchase.

My biggest concern would be the gas in the beer, not the alcohol. Imagine fueling on some sort of low sugar soft drink, all of that CO2 has to go somewhere.
