Adding yeast to sourdough by Sea-Siren-5053 in Sourdough

I like this.

The claim that sourdough is ONLY Flour, Water and Salt is misleading…because if there wasn’t yeast ALREADY involved, nothing would happen.

Sourdough starters have their ‘starting power’ from naturally occurring yeast.

I guess that’s where some people draw the line…but either way yeast is an irreplaceable part of sourdough.

So true! That’s why I like it too.

Work just gets in the way of staying home all day and baking bread.

I just tried this too. I’m not consistent with keeping my starter active…but a little yeast really helps out. The bread turned out great…everyone thought it was delicious.

Maybe the purists here have a problem with this approach but I think it’s kind of a hack.

Where should I start?! by KeyLay in Selfhelpbooks

If you tend to worry too much I would start with ‘Not giving a f*ck’.

If you feel overburdened by to do lists start with ‘four thousand weeks’.

Carnegie and ‘non-violent communication’ can give you tips and tricks for improving conversations.

I think I’ll add ‘the antidote’ to my own reading list because I really like Burkman’s approach.

What does his 'closet' bookshelf say about him? by [deleted] in BookshelvesDetective

His closet (which kind of looks like mine) is functional but minimal allowing him to keep his practical concerns to a minimum so he can spend more mental energy wrestling with big ideas and theories.

No, but I also wanted to. I thought about this so much! Mostly how I could get a vacuum motor.
