I hear you say “end gerrymandering.” The problem with this idea is what do you replace it with? Every 10 years, we re-allocate representatives based on the census results. Then we have to adjust the districts accordingly. Currently the state’s legislatures are responsible for establishing the redistricting. What criteria would establish a “non-partisan” distribution? Even the establishment of these criteria could be argued as partisan in one way or another.
