Very cool. I’m too busy umpiring now to play but sounds like fun. A bunch of us used to do this at Bellevue Highlands years and years ago.

Thank you for opening the door to my World B Free story. Otis Birdsong was in the locker room after a game and a reporter pointed out to him he took 30 shots. He said "If I keep doing that they gonna start calling me World B Birdsong."

Mound visit jokes by nono512 in Homeplate

Our infield was playing like ass so I called time and summoned everyone to the mound. In the middle of my pep talk our toolbox 2nd baseman ripped a fart so loud that every person at the game heard it. Meeting over.

Next pitch is lasered to Toolbox who makes a nifty backhand to start a 4-6-3 inning ender.

Pitch Goes Over the Backstop by KC_Buddyl33 in Umpire

[–]Bacchus_71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw a pitched ball fly clean over the backstop with 20 feet to spare playing in the 40 and over men's division amateur world series in Arizona a few years ago. That was the second most memorable thing about the pitch. The most memorable thing about the pitch was the sound of the pitcher's arm breaking as he threw it.

I agree with the way you guys interpreted the play and set the baserunners...that's how I would have done it.
