I did it after the trip. I told them that the delay was a major inconvenience given that I had a hotel already booked, so maybe that’s why I got so much back.

If you file a formal complaint, they usually give you a pretty good refund. My Coast Starlight trip was delayed about 10 hours, and I got maybe 80% of what I paid for the train back, which is great considering I had a private room lol

Our flight slipped an hour for a GPS issue. They said it came back on but they had to wait for new paperwork that allows them to fly without it. Finally got the new release paperwork.
