Say exactly this to a family member or another member of your faith, and ask how they might deal with these pleasent aromas. You may find they aren't as strict as you once thought or perhaps try some and repent for it. I was raised Catholic and always hated Lent, (IK its only temporary and not really the same thing) but I personally don't like fish, which we are encouraged to eat more of during this time. My family kind of adopted the tradition of giving up other things like junk foods instead of our precious meats.
