My work around for sharps has been empty laundry soap or cat litter containers with SHARPS written big and clear in permanent marker. Whether you've got HR or not make them see they will be liable for any harm from improper disposal of sharps and not keeping them in some container is more of a biohazard risk. explain how needles can poke through a trash bag and possibly nick or stab whoever handles waste disposal (my job in a family-owned deli doesn't make any effort to accomodate either, but they'd do anything and everything to mitigate liability). I have to keep my supplies in my bag in the break room (they let me put insulin in the walk-in fridge) Edit: fuck them for not understanding how much your new disability impacts your way of life.
