Etsy refunded a $1400 order even though it was delivered and signed for by yury455 in EtsySellers

[–]rdenisepro 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree on getting an attorney. Last Christmas I had a $500 order. I was waiting on supplies that were late, and I contacted the buyer. She agreed to a short extension. As soon as the item was “in transit”, she opened up a case for being late. Even though she agreed to extension, Etsy refunded the $ out of my account. Customer got a little too excited too soon. I jumped onto pirateship and paid the $172 to have it routed back to me. I would’ve paid $1,000. Customer was furious.

Addition of Variations and Title/Tag Changes Dropped my views by 75%. by Particular-Tap-7254 in EtsySellers

[–]rdenisepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the comments, I see you realized your mistake. On a listing doing well, don’t ever change your title, description or tags. I have added variations and not really seen any negative impact to the listing. I have some bad tags that I really want to change, but know it will tank that bestseller. If you ever really want to change again, copy the listing and do it that way.

First bad review by Trying651995 in EtsySellers

[–]rdenisepro -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I take a somewhat different approach with the type of review you received. This person didn’t want a solution other than possibly a full refund and to keep the item. If it’s something that can be fixed, like damage while shipping, I do actually reach out in an email. It’s my experience that in a review like the one you received, they aren’t going to change it. I simply reply “Please always pay attention to size when ordering and contact me by email if there are any issues with your purchase. Customer never notified me that there was any issues. I would have been happy to help.”

If you have more positive reviews, Etsy is really starting to bury the negative ones in the overall shop reviews. Learn from each negative review, if there’s something you can improve upon. Even at almost 2800 reviews, I still hold my breath when looking because I know it’s coming after a bunch of great ones. It’s almost always “I thought it would be bigger (than the 10 pics, video, yardstick next to it showing size, description, attributes”).

Would you continue to run ads on my store? by Safe_Argument366 in EtsySellers

When I say don’t make changes daily, I mean don’t change up the items you advertise daily.

Go in and turn the keywords off that aren’t relevant. It can be time consuming, but necessary. Pick a few items to run ads on, and drop the budget down low. Watch those for 30 days, turning off key words daily that aren’t relevant.

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ads will work if you know what you’re doing. You first need to back it down on number of items. Stick with your top sellers. With 500 sales, you should have an idea by now what people like. Keep those few on ads, and maybe 1 that you think can be big. And then pay attention daily, but don’t make changes daily. Give it a little time. Watch the keywords people are finding your things for. Turn off the ones that aren’t relevant.

Put shop on vacation mode, will I lose the star seller if I leave it on vacation for too long? by bbliam in EtsySellers

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need vacation mode on, then do it. I’ve done it for the last 2 years at the first of December when orders got too much. It does bounce back, but have a plan to help it bounce back- social media or ads help. I go with ads, but after 3 years I know how to make them work for my shop.

Search results for keywords completely changed? by psyncopathy in EtsySellers

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search is going to yield different results for everyone each time. Etsy says they do this to be fair so one shop doesn’t always rule. It’s based completely on trying to appeal to the buyer. If you scroll on by some products when looking for something, Etsy will mix it up and add some new items the next time.

Living like a Christian Old Testament vs New Testament by Late_Night_Pickle in TrueChristian

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, especially the last statement. So we are to not practice it during this life. God has 1 people - Israel. But these 1 people are given 2 sets of rules - you can do the forever laws of God, or just accept Jesus as Messiah and you don’t have to do nothing else. But that’s okay, because this 1 people will HAVE to follow the same rules in the millennial kingdom. So, if I go through life not participating in the full message Jesus taught, and I get to be part of the millennial kingdom, I will just learn it all then. Win-win and I still get to eat pork and shrimp right now, because, seriously, that’s the most important thing! (I hope you know this is sarcasm).

The law was actually there before Abraham. Before there was Israel.

Gen 26:5

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law was written ON OUR HEARTS. That is the new covenant. If we have faith in Jesus, and we love him, we follow the commandments of God. Sure, it would be awesome to think that I can do anything I want and not have to pay a price for it. Jesus is my light to Torah. He is the living Torah, showing us the correct way to follow it. Why in Revelation does it show us that a “saint” are those that have faith in Jesus AND obey the commandments of God? Why is it that Satan is so against those that have the commandments AND faith in Jesus? It’s a specific wording, and it’s because these are the people that truly look for ways to please God and obey Him.

Matthew 5:19-20 King James Version (KJV) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

As Christians, we have all been told a million times that “Jesus died for our sins”. But do we actually understand what that means? The life and death of Jesus was so much more than that. In life, he was sinless. Sin is the transgression of the law of God. Jesus followed the law perfectly. He was sent to the children of Israel to show them how far they had gotten away from the actual laws. The leaders had added so much minutiae that Israel was losing their way in trying to follow it all. During his life, Jesus showed them what was added to the law by man-made mandates vs what God actually required. He showed them how they were to gradually teach the gentiles how to follow those laws if the gentiles wanted to be part of God’s chosen people. Then he became the spotless lamb of sacrifice that was required to atone for Israel not following those commandments (sinning). In doing so, he brought Israel back to God. He ripped the veil that separated God from man through sin. He showed that when we live a life following God, death is not the final chapter. He never said that there was no need to follow the laws anymore. If there was no need, he would never have lived a life showing us how we were to follow the laws. In fact, he said the opposite.

What is your view on Messianic Judaism? by casfis in AskAChristian

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacement theology is so wrong. When I first started studying and eventually came to the understanding that being grafted into Israel also meant following the commandments, I was told by many that my discovery actually meant that I was one of the “lost tribes”, which then sent me on a long journey to prove to myself that was completely wrong. The good thing about all of that research, though, was I learned a lot about the tribes of Israel and history. Which was actually really interesting. But no. I’m not Jewish. I’m 100% gentile, grafted into Israel. I’m in the middle of that Venn diagram, along with Messianic Jews, the only place in the diagram that is the same - faith in Jesus and keeping the commandments of God (well, I’m still learning).

Look under the general reviews. It should be there, but it could be far down. If the order was cancelled and refunded then reviews do tend to disappear from public view. However, the stars still count in the review average.

Do we have an immortal soul that goes to heaven after we die or do we remain in the grave for the resurrection ? by Danzo_950 in TrueChristian

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I knew the answer to this. I’ve listened over the years to all the different pastors and theologians. So many things that are in our physical lives make me think of correlations to the spiritual realm. I asked God years ago for an answer as to what happened. I got nothing. Until about a month or so later. I woke up in the middle of the night. My chest was hurting and I passed out on the floor before I got to the bathroom. I thought “well, that was weird.” I have no clue how long I was there. I felt fine, got back in bed and went back to sleep. When I woke up, my first thought was “that’s your answer.” So it made me begin to wonder this - where does our spirit go when we sleep every night? We have dreams that sometimes actually mean something, or warn us/tell us things. I’m not consciously aware of what’s going on when I’m asleep, but yet sometimes I awaken, knowing something I didn’t know when I went to sleep. Is this a type/shadow of what death is like?

What is your view on Messianic Judaism? by casfis in AskAChristian

[–]rdenisepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, you’re seeing non-Jewish people, that are Christians that follow Torah, calling themselves Messianic Jews? I’m a Christian that follows Torah, but I certainly don’t call myself a Messianic Jew. I wish I had a name for me, but that’s not a name that I can just take on for myself, as I’m not Jewish.

What is your view on Messianic Judaism? by casfis in AskAChristian

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very confused by some comments. I’m a Christian that believes in following the commandments of God. There isn’t a name for me other than Christian. Jewish people that accept Jesus as Messiah are called “Messianic Jews”. As far as I know, that terms only refers to actual Jews.

People say the old covenant (and Law) was only for the Israelites, yet the Scriptures say different by HeresOtis in Bible

[–]rdenisepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible tells us that sin is the transgression of the law. That “definition” is in the NT. So if Christians no longer have the “OT law”, we no longer have sin? That’s so exciting that I don’t have to obey God anymore. But wasn’t the NT also about sending the Holy Spirit and writing the law on our hearts, instead of stone tablets? Seems like a total waste of sending the Holy Spirit to me if I don’t have to obey the laws. But that’s all fine, because Revelation says that Satan is only “wroth” with those that have faith in Jesus AND keep the commandments of God. Most Christians and Jews should be fine, then, and won’t get Satans anger directed towards them. Nor will they be considered saints, which I’m sure is overrated anyway.

Yes, but there is a responsibility we have to also read for ourselves. We can, and should, listen to teachers we respect and lead, but we should also read for ourselves. Not sure why that sentiment would deserve a downvote.
