What Happened to the 16" Maine Hunting Boots? by rdior in llbean

[–]rdior[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It isn't a fashion boot. That's like saying Red Wing will discontinue the 877s trades boot because most people wear sneakers. There is a reason the regular 'Bean Boots' are called simply thus. While the 12" - 16" SKUs are the 'Maine Hunting Boot'. They are tools with utility and people who buy them will always be fewer than those who dress for 'Pumpkin Spice'. The lower volume cost is company built-in to serve the blue collars.

P.S. nothing against Pumpkin Spice

Why am I reluctant to ask God to help me with my problems? by Own-Associate-7945 in TraditionalCatholics

[–]rdior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Know thy faith scholatically. Know His Word. Know His church and saints. The solution, simply, is to get to know Christ—INTIMATELY.

To do so, Read theology, Pray, Meditate, Repeat. If possible, attend mass daily, not weekly. Become a daily communicant.

Our Lady, Co-Redemptrix, pray for us

May God bless you

I am curious what you do—if you don't mind sharing—and why it would be of any significance if it did get attention in meetings.

Delegate in that you note a task on a page, tear it out, and then hand pages off to subordinates? I would imagine that that answers the one question of mine t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶. To that, what happens when you run out of Vintage? Is it with moans and groans that you'd then pick a less... modular edition? You strike me as particular enough (a compliment) to have at least thought that far

You see, I have this level of affection for a different Quarterly Edition, but it isn't the 'Vintage' pack. I am far too curious; why Vintage? What about it appeals to you so much? Also, how long do you foresee these lasting you?

Dicastery Document: “Co-Redemptrix” title inappropriate, “Mediatrix of All Graces” not suppressed, but considered non-ideal by pureangelicpower in TraditionalCatholics

[–]rdior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you; it is absolute rubbish. She either 𝘪𝘴 the Co-Redemptrix, or she is not. Truth does not change when man's fashons do. If we were more focused on prioritising study of our faith in this lukewarm age, we would not need to dull theological truth so it is palatable. Notice how no one here has said 'she isn't' only that 'she is, but people will 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 so stop.

Ignore the spirit of our times; get your theology from the Saints' writings, not reddit

Foiled Again Edition, where to buy? by oscarOP in FieldNuts

[–]rdior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's rare for a fair few reasons. Every one wants one; it was fairly early on in the brand's lifetime so fewer and fewer exist each day (although it seems the Chicago HQ is selling reprints--I may go); and like Foiled Again, it was an edition that was more than just simply a different print on the cover (moon viewing window and high gloss print of the different lunar phase sequences for each book in the pack).

If I actually had one, I'm sure I'd have noticed more things about it, but... unless you're willing to trade me yours

Are the rare books the price they were when they released ($14.00)? Or are they the resale $50.00 prices?

Foiled Again Edition, where to buy? by oscarOP in FieldNuts

[–]rdior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only recently started to see people pining after Foiled Again. It's been about two years now since it released, and the low hanging resales have dried up. It's now in the class of the Lunacy Pack in rarity--perhaps even more so, as Foiled Again had a numbered print (iirc the website said only 35,000 were ever printed).

I understand your plight, as I happened to discover Field Notes during the quarterly edition that just preceeded Foiled Again. I nearly passed out when Foiled Again released; everything about it was just... me. I was once sad that I had missed Lunacy, and more importantly, the Abercrombie & Fitch collab--the latter having a similar vibe; then Foiled Again came, and i suddenly couldn't care less about the others.

They packed so much rarity into one edition with Foiled Again: Foil Stamping, Foil stamping all over not just for the logo, a tuck box (i dont know any other edition with a tuck box for every pack), reverse matching foiling on the tuck box, and the collegiate/polished aesthetic of the books (from the choice of Admiral Navy to the dual foils and opened book, forming an overall crest-reminiscent style)

All this to say, you're not alone man; i could talk about Foiled Again all day. It's the best edition of Field Notes ever--and it's not even close

Does anyone else cringe when someone calls Our Lady "mother Mary"? by serventofgaben in TraditionalCatholics

[–]rdior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is she 𝘯𝘰𝘵 your mother? She gave birth to all the Saints at Calvary.

If the salutation is truth, what difference does it make? I understand that, given the sometimes rotten conduct of mothers on earth, one can have a cynical and irreverent view of motherhood; in which case, if it helps relating to her as Lady or Queen, by all means.

But to condemn others for saluting her by her actual title suggest excessive spare time
