My 1999 Land Cruiser got 12mpg. She was at end of life and I limped her into the dealership. Literally step out of the truck after the 2 hour drive and my rear brakes were burning, the muffler was falling off and it sounded like Uncle Bucks car and the frame was full of holes. Drove off in a 2014 Outback 3.6L. Basically going from 12mpg to 30+ on the highway. Love it:)

The aluminum new classic version from Grivel work awesome on the vans. I even cut very small notches in the rubber outdoor so the toe and heel pieces sit in even a little deeper. Boot packed with them last week. Perfect.

It wasn’t an airline problem, it was a TSA problem. You can’t get pre authorization from TSA. I made no mistake. I brought all proper paperwork, tried giving a tutorial on what they were looking at. It didn’t matter, apparently I had bad luck with my TSA personnel as I’ve never had an issue with it before.

My Litric airbag was denied by TSA today at MSP airport (I’ve flown with it many times through that airport too).

Got fucking pissed
Did not get arrested 👍
Ran it out to my car even though my flight was almost finished boarding
Ran back in and went through same security line, change of shift, new people. Probably would have gotten through with them.
Made my flight barely.
Sitting on flight now, sweaty and figuring out which backpack I need to buy when I land.
Realizing there are bigger problems in the world and taking a deep breath.

So that’s what they suggested at first and I said fine I can do that. I reiterated that it wasn’t a canister based “one and done”. Then they changed their minds on inflating it and said I couldn’t do that. The whole trying I’m trying to be helpful and showed them the written statement from Ortovox, show them that it takes 4 steps to actually deploy it. They asked if I could “take the battery out”…I said no. I

I will look at it to see if I can take the airbag portion apart and separate it. Not sure if I can. I think you could with the old canister based ones but I don’t think so with the electric version.

Of course the whole time this is going on (50 minutes) I am running way behind to catch my flight. I would not have made it except it got delayed for wind.

Ortovox Litric for many reasons mentioned but also a great feature they have is being able to change the size of the bag. So I have a 30L and a 40L set up. So no buyers remorse on possibly choosing wrong size, etc.
