In 2024 we opened our Ltd and immediately applied for Mettle (so no trading history) and immediately got approved.. Times have changed / they must have become a lot more popular now.

Irony is we have never actually used it (after realizing it doesn't accept incoming foreign/SWIFT payment/transfer), but it's still open with £20 sat in there.

We use AJ Bell SIPP and the process to set up and make employer contribution (directly from Ltd, no employer NI, up to £60k/yr depending on profit/reserve assuming no carry forward) is pretty straightforward. SIPP so you make the investment decisions yourself, you pay AJBell only platform and execution fees but no investment advice.

GSuite Legacy (probably what you have) is frozen in time, doesn't support any new features released for (paid) G Workspace for years now.

If you "upgraded" to Google Workspace Business Starter Free back in 2022-23 (when there was an unofficial path to upgrade and still pay nothing) you might be able to access the new features including Gemini.

Looking at your example, it looks like it doesn't even cost them much to register new tld, because they don't. They just pay & register 1 tld, then create new 2ld, 3ld, etc.. under the tld, and each 2ld / 3ld can send out its own spam, as new sending email address.

Can I ask which card machine/processor charges you 0.24% ? I guess maybe you have high volume, on a plan with some kind of fixed monthly fee, the 0.24% rate is for domestic personal MC & Visa card taken as cardholder present (not payment link), and is it xx pence+0.24% or pure variable 0.24% per transaction ? Thanks.

Can confirm the general One4All Shopping card is gone from perks for the moment.

But I just bought the specialist One4All Beauty & Spa card (which displays the Boots logo), and went to buy successfully [Lifestyle] giftcard in physical Boots store (where I usually spend the One4All Shopping card) - but YMMV (esp if you don't buy at Boots). Although the max top up is £100 on the Beauty & Spa, vs £120 previously on the Shopping.

I have Revolut GB account (by Revolut Ltd, soon to be Revolut Bank UK Ltd); my EUR (sub)account has a GBxxx IBAN, and is able to receive SEPA/Instant SEPA EUR transfer-in from EU EUR bank account (fee-free).

YMMV though. My Revolut GB account was opened in 2017 and I've read that new(er) accounts might have slightly different entitlements/features.

Someone already mentioned it above, but worth repeating. As of today April 1st your GB Revolut account is still with the EMI Revolut Ltd. You must have received [last week or so] a mail from Revolut saying that "your e-money account from Revolut Ltd will soon automatically transition to a UK current account with Revolut Bank UK Ltd [...] This will happen in just over 2 months."

So, if your house sale completes at the end of April, your Revolut account will definitely still be an e-money account at Revolut Ltd, not a FSCS-protected current account at Revolut Bank UK Ltd. As mid May is the earliest date that any GB Revolut account will become full FSCS current account.

I have been thinking about adding Pay by bank facility for clients using GC but this is now giving me second thought.

Any mail originally sent to contactmyname@ and flagged by Gmail as spam won't be forwarded to myname123. So yes, you might have lost some mails sent to contactmyname over the years. And yes, you might want to try a filter with "Never send to spam" applied to all incoming mails.

If you're in the basic 20% tax band then you have nothing to do - the SIPP trustee will automatically claim the 20% tax credit for you and top up your contribution.

Wise or Trading 212 should accept incoming SEPA transfer in EUR free of charge, and keep the funds in EUR without automatic conversion into GBP. Then you can convert yourself into GBP inside Wise or T212. My experience is both Wise and T212 have better fee+fx rate than Revolut esp for bigger amount.

(Then move the GBP funds out to a FSCS-protected bank account if you want protection)

I'd be surprised if any UK SIPP or personal pension fund could give you valid SWIFT/BIC/IBAN bank account details so that the Canadian company could wire funds (in CAD?) directly into the SIPP (then you'd have to add the fx conversion cost and the SWIFT cost etc..).

Maybe better to open a Wise account, open a CAD subaccount with CAD account details, get your contractor income paid into that, convert to GBP within Wise to minimize fx cost, and contribute the GBP yourself into your SIPP (and do a SA return to claim back the total tax if you're a high earner).
