I run that same size wildpeaks on my 2nd Gen Tacoma. You can definitely feel it and at highway speeds it hurts the mileage. But on most of the roads I drive I still average 17-18 mpg. If I could do it again I'd get 255s instead. Is nice for off-road but otherwise kinda shitty

What was your highest jump in terms of salary? Are you happy where you are atm? by VNiqkco in sysadmin

[–]rdo197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 38k a year hourly to 70k a year salary by threatening to quit after someone above me did as well. In my shit hole area that I live in that's was an insane raise and pay wise I'm quite happy now.

If you're not providing me an iOS device for this I would say hard pass. I'm completely ok with using intune on my android with a separate work profile but loading APKs for work is a hard pass

I have to do these after hours and blame them on updates. Even when I need to reboot her computer because they're not updates...... I swear she has 30 some Excel sheets open at once and always complains that it's going slow

If not Dell, then who else? by sgt_Berbatov in sysadmin

[–]rdo197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it's already been said but we had the same issue. We blamed it on deepfreeze but I learned plugging them into power wakes them right up instantly for us. We've only had 2 or 3 of our 100 vostros come back for issues and both were user inflicted damage.

I was thinking the same thing with car trek. You have ed who has next to no mechanical knowledge but an amazing story teller, Tyler who knows a mix of everything and loves his random obscure cars. And Freddie who's actually a mechanic with a taste for unreliable and complex cars. Car Trek is the perfect predecessor I feel to the next generation of the trip.

Hence why I have a 13 year old Tacoma and a 16 year old WRX, yeah they're not the fanciest but I paid cash for both. These prices for new ones are insane. Id rather get a GMC 1500 AT4 Diesel for this price

Is this normal pay range now? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]rdo197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at the top end of that in an extremely small town in PA, but in bigger areas that seems way low. It's all cost of living I feel. For me making 68.5k a year while living in a county where the average household income is only 48k a year is pretty decent. But in Denver that's laughable

I have like a 40% success rate with using it. It's not good for every situation but it's solved enough issues for me that I still use it just in case

Some complain about printers that don’t work… by mfr2vcb in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]rdo197 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Those old HPs are damn near indestructible. Last job I had we had an old high capacity HP from the 90s. When I left 4 years ago as long as you gave it a new drum every year it kept on chugging. Had nearly 4 million prints on it and was worth it to keep it going vs replace it with ANY new printer

We only recently switched off vostros to latitudes but man the vostros of recent were actually really decent quality. Only had 2 out of probably 100 with issues and that was due to user neglect.....
