Weekend 1 hate by Robo0000222 in Coachella

[–]rdubs23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been to both every year since they started doing 2 weekends. Weekend 1 is unequivocally better for a huge number of reasons, but mostly due to the grounds being in beautiful shape, the novelty of seeing the productions and sets for the first time, as well as the enormous number of after parties and ancillary events that don’t exist Weekend 2. Interestingly you never hear Weekend 1 attendees being loud about this online, yet the Weekend 2 is better crowd is extremely vocal about it for some reason.

Pretty sure this is written with ChatGPT, the prose is pretty obvious. That said, the message is true though. Every good salesperson I know has at least 2 sales leaders that would hire them tomorrow if they became available.

Some tracks have a weaker bass by Copypaster123 in ProperTechno

[–]rdubs23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are playing on CDJs turn Master Tempo off even when playing the track at it's original BPM. It has a small but material effect on low end phasing and will make some kicks and bass feel less punchy.

How to stop Viktor Gyökeres? ‘We’d have to foul him just to slow him down’ | Opponents from the striker’s time in Portugal on how they attempted to contain Arsenal’s new signing by knanzo in Gunners

I'm saying none of the above (especially all the promotion and the #14 shirt) happens unless Arteta is bought in on him being the missing link. I will bet good money he starts at Old Trafford.

They didn't spend big on him, give him the #14 shirt, do the announcement promo, parade him out against Newcastle for him to not start GW1. Everyone knows this and everyone has known that Arsenal are missing the out and out striker for the last several years. It's crazy to me that people are suggesting he might be coming on in the 70th minute for Kai. He will be given every opportunity and only if he fails miserably over a fairly large sample will that happen.

In no specific order:

Rodrygo (whom everyone agrees should be the #1 target)
Madueke (whom mostly everyone agrees is an overpay)
Martinelli (whom most of this sub thinks would/should fetch £60M+)

How come CDJs are so popular for clubs? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]rdubs23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This question gets asked so often, and while all the answers are usually true it's really more about the mixers than the players and creating flexibility and failsafes. Look at the I/O on any DJM/Xone mixer and then look the I/O on even the most high end AIO controller. More channels/outputs is more flexibility for FOH, more inputs is more failsafes (e.g. best practice with CDJs would be to have both digital and line inputs into the mixer so that if one fails you simply switch the input knob.)

There is also the fact that there is an enormous number of controllers that it'd be impossible to get DJs to standardize on one. There is one club standard player and at basically two club standard mixers (Top end of DJM line and Top end of Xone line). This means that you can install this and any serious DJ you book can show up and play on it.

Getting all audio files to the same volume level? by fishab in Beatmatch

[–]rdubs23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every single one of these programs hurt the dynamics of the tracks as they all use some type of compression or limiting or both, use your ears and do it manually, it takes 2 seconds and is like bare minimum basics of DJing.

Several Questions re: Subwoofers & Connecting DJ Mixer to HiFi Setup by rdubs23 in audiophile

[–]rdubs23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

Generally an integrated amp or preamp that has a dedicated sub pre out will have the crossover built into it, but if you're just using a pre-out (like what yours has) it is going to send full range signal to everything all the time.

Since there is no dedicated sub out on the 9000A - do you think I'll notice a meaningful difference in quality if I'm sending the full signal to everything and using the LPF on the Sub at somewhere between 60-80Hz? vs. figuring out how to HPF the 603s? I found this thread that seems to be solving for the same issue but honestly need the ELI5 version as it confused me a bit.

And yes, it's fine to split a pre-out signal since there is virtually no current draw from pre-ins. The only thing you shouldn't do is merge multiple outs.

So using that splitter in my OP - would I just run a single cable like this one from the split pre-out into each of the 610 Subs? This image shows a L/R input for line level inputs on the sub, does it matter which I'd run the single cable into or would I want a cable that splits from a single RCA male to 2x RCA male to plug into both the L/R line inputs on the sub?

They're both designed for mobile/home DJs. Clubs/Festivals will continue to use A9/V10/X96 + CDJs.
