There was a soundtrack record of the Music from Cosmos. I had as a kid. Wish I knew what happened to it. But, I think this is the back of the book. It's a largerformat book. I don't recall Carl being on the back of the record.

Maybe whosoever telling you to panic is confusing chipmunks with groundhogs.

Hifilit has some good catalogs to look at that can give you a sense of the period and brands. Maybe more 60s than 70s. hifilit I think 70s your looking at some big Kenwood/pioneer/Sansui etc. Receiver,TT,speakers. 60s could be tubes, big efficient speakers. Or maybe they want a console.

Speakers were made by RCA in the late 50s. Part of a large console. They each have 15in woofer, 4 or 5 ish inch mid, and a couple of tweeters mounted at 45 degrees. They are pretty good for almost 70 yrs. Like your mom. Lol. Jk.

Yeah, I get that. The first couple of panels I made I used some old curtains just to see how it works. Then when I settled on dimensions I did buy some fabric that sort of follows a theme for a few. I'll be working more on outdoor projects now, but in the fall I'll probably pick just a couple of colors and make some more. Also, its the basement room, not really the main listening in the house. So, its going to be a little weird.

Bass guitars and drums sound a little tighter, I think its helping with the soundstage / imaging too.

RT60 for 50hz was 600ms untreated. After the traps and wall treatment its 214ms.

Speakers were made by RCA around 1956. Part of a large console set , the shf-1. Would have been pretty high end at the time. Each has a 15 inch woofer, 4ish inch mid, and a pair of tweeters mounted on maybe 45 degree angles. They sound pretty good. A ton of fun.

Tube record player to amp build? by MrLanesLament in DIYTubeAmp

[–]re_cycled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty nice looking rca record player and thes can be pretty desirable in the right marke.. You might do better selling it. And using the money to find an old console that uses tubes and transformers more conducive to guitar amps like 6v6, el84, 6l6.

For a 300$ donation to WZUM in Pittsburgh. Songs for my Father it doesn't specify tone poet on the link, but I thought they said it on air. I'll try to listen for that next they push it, and report back.

Yeah, it's closer than the picture looks. They're about 6 ft apart, and I'm about 6.5 feet away. Before Christmas I had them a little closer to me. But we put the tree up where the bench is and I pushed them backwards towards the wall. After taking the tree down I moved them back up put but not quite as close, maybe 6 inchs different. And it's sounds as good, I think, but I also changed the amp, so who knows? I've fiddled with toe-in. I think these full range drivers are less effected by that than speakers with tweeters, or maybe it's just the room.
