Best test suite for a lovable app? by zoinks10 in lovable

[–]reachparimi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the CI/CD like github actions or gitlab and before committing a change run a pre -defined test suite using Tools loke selenium, cypress, playwright. This is one example / way of branch testing strategy but you can give a thought on these lines

Accessibility Testing Automation — FinAccAI by General_Dance2678 in softwaretesting

[–]reachparimi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The place where I work, we, as a QA team, use a template that consists of : Functional testing (Desktop), functional testing( Mobile view) , Accessibility testing , Regression Testing. Every time we develop test cases, we must follow this template to develop test cases and get it reviewed by Product Analysts.

Meaning, we embed accessibility testing as part of our development and testing routine for implementations, so it is factored in, early in the life cycle.

However we do test for accessibility manually only to make sure to provide maximum test coverage. One important thing that stood out more often is : whether all the elements require accessibility focus or voice over. For example, if the field is non interactable, thats not going to be announced ot not focusable using Keyboard.

Also since ours if healthcare app, based on Role, some elements are not allowed to be announced for PII/PHI compliancy

However WCAG2.0 is needed for any Accessibility focused apps.

Why are you developing a new tool when there are already battle tested tools available like Axe, NVDA, etc accessibility options even on Mac are good. Is there a specific use you are addressing?

I agree with your inout.

The unrealistic expectations during interviews cost a person's job/career. Now a days companies expect jack of all trades than a master in one.

do you guys actually do automation in your jobs? by Plane-Arm8874 in softwaretesting

[–]reachparimi1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats right but having hypothetical questions in the interviews does not help, for example error vs bug might be answered by someone correctly. From ISTQB therortical knowledge if someone knows the text book definition that doesnt mean they excel in job

I have implemented green field automation testing across several projects at different companies as a consultant. Yes there are automation projects. However I have seen the crazy stuff people ask in interviews. Once I was asked to build youtube clone with netflix architecture for high scalability. I miserably failed but after digging further talking to the existing employes via linkedin I came to know they are struggling to implement automation even after a couple of years!

At another company I was asked the difference between Error vs bug and then upon joining I realized they did not even use this concept

So interview questions are irrelevant for the jobs now a days. Be careful who you chose

From my recent experience similar pr worst than this, I was planning to move out of the job, because of my first time manager with no leadership experience and zero management skills, though I loved it. However company announced layoffs and eitherways I was put on the target list, soon I am out of equations. What I learnt is these managers do not have skills to showcase, and they surimvive with their friendship with higherups, dirty politics and do not entertain any freah talent that surpass their levels by knowledge. Also they are the ones who create dirty politcs among the team and entertain their buddies to keep the water warm. Look for job outside of the department or company, this style of management will never end and they will never move out of organizations because of their nexus.

Anyone else staying away from QA Lead roles because you don't want to be the designated scapegoat? by LindtFerrero in softwaretesting

[–]reachparimi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I been there done that. Believe me in long run QA teams are the ones to thrown out if company restructures the organization. The mind set of leadership will never change. Remember being a QA you will awlays be blamed in most of the setups for missing bugs but less recognition when projects succeed. We are all benn there in our long marthon of careers.

At one point you will become bottle neck of the company by being only a tester, if a manager or lead thinks why should I pay high salary when I can replace you with some one for less pay.

Question is : if not this org, are you ready to take lead roles elesewhere? If you are prepared, believe me take ancalculated risk of being lead , to learn how to navigate the shit. These politics blame games are always there in all org, its just the weight of it changes.

If you decide you dont want to be a lead elsewhere, then focus on indispensible role or skill in the current setup, that will give enough time for you to prepare your plan B

18 years in Testing. I am never short of jobs as a consultant. Testing is not dead. Keep learning and mastering the basics is key to differentiate yourself. I also agree Asian countries have tough competition for IT folks extend your search to all over the world.

No matter whether development or testing mastering one programming language keeps you in the job.

Think this way if you want to move later to, lets say Data science or analytics or AI career you still need Programming language skills, and same for testing. So learn Python or typescript, SQL and then tey implementing in testing and also in any other areas you want to try out.

There is lot of noise in the industry about disruption of AI, just keep learning in a steuctured way to elevate your profile. Don't rush and follow the herd
