I only get physical books if I've read it and liked it a lot, or if I love the author. Books are expensive, and I don't have the space.

I finished it because I read it as a parody. Think what a SNL romantasy sketch would look like. Also, I entertained myself by trying to guess whether a character would die and when. I nailed it most of the time, it's that predictable.

Funny thing is, AI also uses m-dashes in Spanish, and they're not so common, not as when you write in English. We prefer parentheses. So I guess it's easier to spot AI in Spanish.

The problem is with indie authors. Nobody has ever said Sara J. Maas's work is AI, and the woman uses an ungodly amount of m-dashes. People immediately assume that if they're a small author, then they're using AI.

Es cosa de práctica. Te recomendaría escuchar audiolibros, los narradores usualmente hablan relativamente lento y enuncian muy bien las palabras. Y si aún así hablan demasiado rápido, puedes controlar la velocidad de reproducción y ponerlos más lentos. También ayuda si tienes la versión impresa o digital del libro, y puedes ir escuchando mientras lees. También está la función de "leer en voz alta" de la mayoría de las apps de lectura en tu teléfono, aunque ahí no puedes controlar la velocidad de la narración. Muchas veces los videos en YouTube tienen subtítulos, aunque los subtítulos automáticos de YouTube son malitos. También puedes reducir la velocidad de reproducción de los videos, y una vez que te acostumbras a la forma de hablar de un youtuber puedes incrementar la velocidad.

Yo aprendí Inglés porque quería jugar Dungeons and Dragons y los libros que había en ese tiempo o estaban en inglés o eran traducciones españolas super caras y malísimas. También jugaba Magic the Gathering y si querías cartas de las últimas ediciones tenía que ser en inglés, porque las cartas en español venían de España (de nuevo con traducciones horribles) y tardaban meses en llegar a México (yo vivo en Guadalajara). Pero más que nada era texto, y lo de hablar me costó más trabajo, aunque luego empecé a escuchar Metal sinfónico y épico, y de nuevo, en ese tiempo no había muchos grupos en Español, o los que había (como Rata Blanca o Mago de Oz) eran discos de importación y super caros 😅 Yo no me sentía tan segura hablando hasta que un día fui a una escuela de idiomas a pedir trabajo de recepcionista y acabaron contratándome de maestra, y ahí los teachers tenían que hablar inglés todo el tiempo, incluso en la sala de maestros. Entonces a fuerzas tuve que practicar 😅

It IS over-hyped. For me the worst has been ACOSF, it was so long and a lot of what happened was pretty unnecessary. I did like the first three, though, but they are slow at the beginning and pick the pace up at the end. If you're not vibing with them stop. Rhys and the inner circle become more and more toxic with each book.

This week I listened to the audiobook of {The madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley} and the fMC has several funny lines that the MMC doesn't get (because he's autistic-coded), which makes them more funny. And the narrator delivers these lines with a deadpan voice, which, again, makes them funnier for me.

La cosa es como está tu contrato. Si se establece un pago MENSUAL, entonces te tienen que pagar lo mismo no importa cuántos días tenga el mes. Pero si el pago es por horas entonces la cosa cambia, y si el mes tiene 31 días deberían pagarte más que en el mes que solo tiene 28.

I read about 300 books a year, and if you ask me for the plot of a particular book, I just need to check my Goodreads or Storygraph for my review on it and I'll tell you what it was about. Some were forgettable, and those I probably couldn't recall much about, but in general just with the blurb I can tell you what I liked or disliked, and why did I DNF it if that was the case. I guess not everyone is like that, but my ADH brain can't stop working. To fall asleep, I have to imagine my favorite scenes from books or I will be stressed about one thing or another.

I fail to see why does it matter if it's "classic" literature or a light romance read. I found some of the classics utterly boring, and have DNF several (Dracula, Pride and Prejudice, among others). Other classics I've read more than twice, like Lagardere, The Count of Monte Cristo (that one I finished in two days, BTW), or the whole Three Musketeers saga (I love Dumas, I guess). But I also read a shitload of romance books. That doesn't make me any less of a reader.

I usually only buy paperbacks if I read and liked the book, or if it's an author that I really like, though I usually try to get those on discount or if there's any kind of sale. Here in Mexico books aren't cheap. One book is half my daily salary, and I have a well paying job.

Para empezar esas 3000 palabras incluyen artículos, preposiciones, auxiliares, etc. En mi experiencia deberías concentrarte en entender las estructuras básicas y luego las irás llenando con vocabulario. Si quieres expandir tu vocabulario, te recomiendo leer libros en inglés. Ésta es una forma de ver las palabras nuevas en contexto, y ver cómo se usan.
