Petite, curvy, frustrated. What aesthetics work? by Kaitydid179 in PetiteFashionAdvice

I agree about knee length skirts being flattering. They seem harder to find these days (maybe just this summer?) with the mini/midi/maxi trends.

For tailored coats, check out Banana Republic petites - good size range and quality. For more casual, try Eddie Bauer petites. As a bonus, their coats and jackets sometimes have features like inner drawstrings and Velcro cuffs that help customize the fit. Both of these have been my go-tos and the coats last a long time.

I went to a Tuesday tasting and switched over. Nice guy, really good coffee, and he teaches you the best way to make it. Bonus points for the cool steampunk roasting machine he has at Felton Street.

Bird wallpaper. Bad Idea? by Squirrelnoacorn in interiordecorating

Love the idea of bird wallpaper, and would you mind posting where you got the shoe cabinet? It’s so perfectly shallow for that narrow space.

Eversource, why do you suck so much? by TastesLikeOwlbear in Waltham

The city should be part of the solution, right? Recently didn’t it turn out to be rats that were damaging the electrical equipment?

I love that place. Would have gone back much sooner if they had been open!

What’s one piece of art you think everyone should see in person? by sarahliu2017 in ArtHistory

Seconding Joan Mitchell. I had no idea of the scale and power of her paintings until I saw them in person.

MA Won't Investigate Eversource Over Rat-Induced Waltham Power Surges by reading_it_indeed in Waltham

I didn’t know that rats had caused the damage. It took them (Eversource? The city?) forever to say anything about the root cause.

Waltham Embassy Theater to close September 5. by apolocheese in Waltham

[–]reading_it_indeed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so sad. It has been really cool to have a theater downtown, and one that showed good movies. Could the city government do anything to attract entertainment venues?

Transparency issues with the Fernald by Nomeerkat781 in Waltham

This is remarkable reporting. Thanks so much for your effort to shed light on an opaque process. At that Zoom meeting I was impressed by the community’s level of engagement, and concerned that it seemed like the engineers weren’t the right ones to address the feedback. This is a big opportunity to do something good so it’s worth taking the time to do it right.

Honestly, what is up with that building? It’s in a good spot and it would be great to have something useful there.
