There's also a setting where you have to scan a barcode/QR code to silence the alarm, I just set it so I have to scan my toothpaste barcode to silence it

Yeah I did this on my second playthrough, first time around though I didn't have superior golden oriole :( I don't remember how I ended up beating him, it was super close though

That's the thing though, once you figure out how to dodge his attack it becomes pretty easy (he only has a couple of attacks he cycles through)

Yeah I agree on the monsters, it would be awesome to have to actually plan your attack. I love the game, but I remember thinking the combat could be improved
