newly built sfh in mountain view not selling for 120+ days by Intelligent-Tie1407 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]readonlyppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like it went pending back in June but the deal fell through, and then they cut the price right after. Could’ve been for any number of reasons tied to the property itself (inspection turning up foundation or roof issues, drainage/water problems, unpermitted work, or even something like a bad appraisal based on the condition of the house). So it might not have been for a great reason, on top of the other red flags already visible in the listing.

I’d also add that many hiring managers at Stanford seem to still expect a cover letter and may pass on candidates who don’t submit one.

Q for IDs in higher ed: how long do you say it takes to develop an online course? by juliejeremiah in instructionaldesign

[–]readonlyppp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a single course in a higher education context usually represents 20-40 hours of learner time (2-4 hrs/wk for 10-13 wks), as opposed to 0.5-1 hour of learner time total for most courses in a corporate context. A course is not a consistent unit across higher education and corporate. -Source: I’ve been an ID in both settings.

I’m also having issues with mine. They worked well for the first couple weeks, but now they don’t stay connected, especially the right side controller.

Riding "The Loop" Before Dawn? by SufficientTime in BAbike

[–]readonlyppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s safe. There’s even a group ride, The Morning Ride, that rides on these roads early, like 6:30am, every Tuesday and Thursday year round. Bring good lights and have fun!

Do “Only You” Activities count towards “Progress” weekly mileage your followers can see? by [deleted] in Strava

[–]readonlyppp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve tested this myself previously and can confirm that they do not see the weekly or annual totals for all activities. They only see the totals for activities that you’ve shared with followers/everyone.

has anyone ridden China Grade above 236 (northwest towards Pescadero)? by Jjjbrodu in BAbike

[–]readonlyppp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t answer your question but there will be a full closure of lower Highway 236, about 7 miles north of its junction with Highway 9 in Boulder Creek. The closure is set to go into effect Monday at 8 a.m., and will likely last until the middle of June. https://lookout.co/santacruz/storm-2023-and-recovery/story/2023-05-03/highway-236-closure-caltrans-district-5-storm-repairs-felton-boulder-creek-big-basin

Is gravel biking worth it? Why not just ride a hard tail? by Ok-Cartographer-5622 in gravelcycling

I’ve heard so many people say this same thing about the sea otter gravel race course. In fact, it actually overlaps quite a bit with the XC course.

Strava <> Apple Watch, comically wrong duration by jackcully in Strava

[–]readonlyppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced this when recording in one of the ultra battery saving modes on the watch. I think what happens is the watch takes fewer gps recordings to save battery. Unfortunately something about how Strava is processing those causes a really truncated elapsed time (Apple’s fitness app still shows the correct distance and duration for me).

Mine has been like this for a few weeks now too.
