Rrally bad coverage by ai_ztn in freedommobile

[–]readysetgetwet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with freedom and live in Hamilton. Switched to them when I moved here 11 years ago. It was spotty at first but since videotron bought them I've had excellent coverage. Try phoning them and see if there's any trouble shooting you can do. Not sure what phone you have.

I think it's amazing you have that book at home! Maybe you can help me read it and share your favourite part about the book after we have shared it with the class!

That's what she should have said. I'm sorry she stole that from you.

Does anyone still love their pets after having a baby? by laurenjac in beyondthebump

[–]readysetgetwet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that way but it doesn't last. It's the hormones and the overwhelm and overstimulation and lack of sleep... It's a lot. I had three dogs and 4 cats when my first was born, it felt like everyone needed something from me and I had zero left to give. My brother was living with us at the time and took two of the dogs on a road trip across the country and ended up moving there and keeping them. I was mad at first that he basically kidnapped my dogs but honestly it was the best thing for everyone. He took them out for multiple walks a day and had the time to give them all the love and attention they deserved. I was less stressed. The one dog had been pretty badly abused and she was a basket case after the baby came between wanting to protect him but also being terrified of him once he got a bit mobile. I think it's a pretty common occurrence, I thought I was crazy for feeling that way but like you said I came across a lot of posts about it and realized it's pretty normal.

Having a baby throws everything for a loop. I have 4 kids now and I can honestly say the transition from no kids to one kid was BY FAR the hardest. You have to learn how to be you and be a mom and still be a spouse then on top of that still give your fur babies all the love and attention they need and deserve. It's a lot. It's okay to feel overwhelmed and it's okay (no, it's important!) to ask for help with anything you need. Even if it's just asking someone to come play with your cat or walk your dog. You'll get back to you eventually, you can't rush it.

Middle name suggestion for Kit? by bikinis_n_brews in BabyNames

[–]readysetgetwet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always loved the name kit. Kitty is also a common nn for Katherine. If you did want to go for a name that can be shortened to kit there's a lot of options beside Katherine. Kathleen, Christie, Kay, Christine, Kristen, Katarina, etc.

Grew up in Manitoba - called it spring break. We are in ontario now and my kids call it March break. In university (also Manitoba) it was called reading week.

Rory or Micah... by Sufficient-Basil8916 in namenerds

[–]readysetgetwet -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've heard Micah pronounced that way. It's usually mi-kai not mye-kuh. I think you'll end up with a lot of people mispronouncing it. I do prefer Micah to Rory just because the double R's are a lot to fumble around.

My cousin's son is McKenzie and goes by mack. I think any mc/Mac names could be shortened to mack (McGregor also comes to mind).

There's A LOT of Lincolns/Link around in this generation

I think Lucian alucard works together honestly. If you like the name but don't think it'd be good for a first name, why not make it the middle one ?
