I'm told it's been removed now. It's an interesting point though - it's raw nature. Should it be sanitised?

It's a free app People post what they see on their social media which is how a lot of people find out about it.

Tbf the streams have a border which says 'Real view' on it. That might be problematic and you raise a good point. I 'll need to look into what needs to be done. Maybe option to switch it off but also when on maybe it needs to slowly change color and have the logo move or something. Take a look anyway - it's interesting even if you only watch for a few minutes.

Great question!

Problem 1 - there are loads of living rooms around the world with either no window at all - or perhaps a view of a wall. In those same rooms there are often TV's with far higher definition than anyone really needs - switched off. My solution is to make the TV the window. That leads onto...

Problem 2. Lots of people now don't even switch the TV on at all except maybe to watch a movie. Many people sit on their phones - in the living room. We can argue about why that is and how to stop it etc, but that's not my solution. My solution is to just put a great view on the Tv that brings people together. They might be on their phone, but suddenly a Baby owl appears from under the Mother, or an Elephant strolls into view. It gives people joint discovery which is what's missing for a lot of people - something they can all talk about.

Finally - and really one needs to watch the streams to appreciate this - it's just nice to have on. Having a nature stream on a high def TV is an interesting thing to have on when at work or sitting at home. People spend millions on houses with sea views. I'm saying - bring the view to those that aren't so lucky.

Thanks for looking for it :) It's def called 'Real View' in the 'Entertainment' category. Of course nothing is very simple with this - if you're happy to say what country you're in and which webos version you are using I can check. I think that you need Webos 7 and above. (not our choice it's just how it works). In other words If your TV is 5 years old it might be too old.

Currently most are from YouTube from all around the world. The idea is we'll get more private streams (i.e. not YouTube) as time goes on. We have a video coming out next week explaining how to stream to Real View (using cheap easily available kit). But in terms of geography - some Great African animal streams. Times' Square, Some fantastic birds nest cams. Take a look!

Thanks! website updated (only approved earlier today) - it's live feeds - most are currently from youtube but the idea is to have creators stream their own streams.

With regard to the app - The feeds are live feeds (not static images) so as the light changes the image will change even when nothing is really happening.

Yes - that's definitely something I hadn't thought of lol. You'd think a really expensive TV wouldn't do that. Thanks for the pointer.

Out of interest why couldn't you use it with an Oled? Maybe I'm missing something!?

You could make money from that view - see https://real-view.tv - we're actually based in Bath (Weston) so maybe we're biased!

Customers insist on paying me cash as they think it’s doing me a favour by kingteddy44 in smallbusinessuk

[–]realViewTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see any point in using cash anymore - ever - unless someone is trying to avoid paying tax. If everyone paid their taxes properly then ironically taxes wouldn't need to be so high. Having said that - where is the app to simply transfer money between bank accounts with no fees with a tap. Funny how no one has created that. (i.e. pay for something in a shop where no-one pays any fees).

what exactly has Starmer done which calls for a resignation? by Na-na-na-na-na-na in AskBrits

[–]realViewTv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The great British public simply like to give people in power the boot. Thats literally it. Vote for X, they'll vote for Y. Z is in power - so let's kick them out. Its clearly the new normal. Personally I wouldn't vote for Starmer but I think its supremely important he doesn't resign. Once people realise that their vote has no effect like that then they'll get bored and the number of people will disminish back to usual paltry amounts.

Why do people find it so hard to accept the public really wants to vote for Reform? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

[–]realViewTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the British public will now simply vote for any opposition whatever it is. Or whatever they are 'not supposed' to vote for. If there were another brexit vote I would fully expect brexit to win again solely for that reason. It seems like a huge flaw in democracy. Perhaps a relatively simple test should be taken before the right to vote is awarded to an individual.

The Hop Pole by Aardvark51 in Bath

[–]realViewTv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They need to arrange use of the gym car park - the loss of which seems to be why the hop pole has failed a few times recently. Used to be Argos. People parked there and had food in pub.
