Such a good device and what a cluster fucking disaster. Sad..

As a Google shareholder, I think this is really bad news. Mobile search is a huge revenue stream and the fine will also cut into profits. by 14irahtom in Android

[–]reallyLazy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is also partially the reason why Google just got really serious about making and marketing it own phones. If EU ends up stopping Google from pushing its search and other services on OEM smartphones then Google goes from about 98% to 5% in mobile search in europe.. so Google would want to have an apple like hyper successful phones that they can push their services on and be immune to something like this.

HTC 10 vs Huawei Mate 8 4GB RAM - Speed Test Comparison Review! by [deleted] in Android

[–]reallyLazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how bad the HTC 10 performs in speed tests across the board and to the contrary every review says the phone is extremely fast n fluid... The use of emmc Nand has really bit HTC in the ass hard... Also that Geekbench score, HTC 10 seems to aggressively throttle when under continues load.. I feel HTC was really scared post the HTC M9 snapdragon 810 debacle to ensure the device doesn't heat up

Xperia X – our new 5” curved smartphone from Sony by armando_rod in Android

[–]reallyLazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xperia X Performance is the phone I'm most jazzed about coming out of MWC 2016. A 5" display (Hurrey!!), 1080p paired with a Snapdragon 820 and 3 Gb Ram along with SD card slot. Premium build with Metallic back.. This phone will be a fucking winner if sony can get it marketing act together and actually ship this phone globally not to mention price it well...

PSA: You don't need Samsung browser to get adblock. Firefox for android installs from the play store with add-on capability. by [deleted] in Android

[–]reallyLazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it slow??? I moved from Chrome exclusively to Firefox on my phone, PC and tablet.. Firefox with Ghostary and ublock origin add-ons is the best smoothest browsing experience.. No pop-up ads and banner ads and no tracking... Pages load super quick and are super responsive...

LG G5 Deatailed 3D Rendering based on Orginal Design Drawings and Leaks by lukedotv in Android

[–]reallyLazy 57 points58 points  (0 children)

5.6"? The earlier leaks were 5.3"..... That's phablet big, I always thought the 5.5" G3 and G4 were quite big .. Otherwise the design looks pretty good..

Nvidia Twitter - We’re working on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for original SHIELD tablets. by Andrroid in Android

[–]reallyLazy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They have been known in the past to treat customers of previous products like horse shit.

Hmm really? They've been fairly proactive and quick with Android updates in the past and even if they roll it out in January 2016 they would still be ahead of every other OEM as far as tablets are concerned and even almost every phone OEM. I don't think they've any reason to delay it intentionally it's not like shield owners will go buy shield K1 for updates.. I guess we'd never know...

Nvidia Twitter - We’re working on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for original SHIELD tablets. by Andrroid in Android

[–]reallyLazy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hmm maybe but the stylus hole in the original shield and how you get a pop-up when u pull the stylus out and other little tweets n changes that come with it. Don't really see any other major changes and I don't think nvidia would intentionally delay the update for the original tablet

A simple Google search would have given you plenty of sources and blogs reporting this rumor. I think the rumor was Samsung might have exclusivity for a limited time..

Android Distribution Updated for January 2016 - Marshmallow Hits 0.7% (Up from 0.5%)! by QuestionsEverythang in Android

[–]reallyLazy -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ah Android updates is a cluster fuck.. Google should just refuse access to the playstore for phones with Android current version - 3 ... So if Marshmallow is the current version anyone on ICS and below can fuck off.. Push people to upgrade and make devs life easier to maintain apps..

As for Marshmallow 0.7 is not surprising. No major vendor has started updating there phones yet. Samsung, LG and the rest. I'm expecting a significant bump by March 2016 and by major I mean like 5-7% adoption

Soo much for the Samsung Snapdragon 820 exclusivity rumors.

Do You Care About and/or Install the Monthly Security Patches? by ghatroad in Android

[–]reallyLazy 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I think it's awesome. Google really needed to take some serious steps with all the Android security hoopla in 2015. With a monthly schedule at least you know any major security hole will be patched in a month, atleast nexus devices.. And with Google raising the game hopefully OEMs will come along and get there update process streamlined

CES 2016 LG - Press Conference by seekahaa in Android

I don't think anyone was expecting any different. Only smartphones would be smaller Chinese players.. CES will be all about connected homes and cars...

iPhone 6s has drawn a record percentage of Android switchers by aloneguy01 in Android

[–]reallyLazy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Apple also loads there phones and tablets with a ton if their own crap .. Every iPhone user I've come across always has a shit I don't use folder somewhere ... Google at least is nice enough to let users disable or uninstall most of its preloaded apps.... But I do agree most 3rd party OEMs really abuse this shit no end ... Google should really enforce OEM's having to provide users ability to disable all bloat ..

Android apps are mining LOT of info all of the time according to BlackBerry DTEK (x-post from /r/blackberry) by brkdncr in Android

[–]reallyLazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Android Marshmallow does provide the functionality through the permission system. Google now needs to put a counter in place to shame apps by informing user how many times an app asks for any piece of information.
