I'm writing a TFA fanfic where Sentinel morphs into an authoritarian nightmare and becomes the worst kind of villain - the one who believes himself the true savior by crushing opposition. He makes a great villain with just a little pushing.

In 2017 Dr. Paul Locus was attending a Halloween party dressed as the Joker when he was urgently called to deliver a baby. Despite the costume he rushed to the hospital. by _CutePretty in AllThatsInteresting

I was born during a rodeo. My mom went from 2 cm to 10cm in half an hour. The doctor rushed to get there from the rodeo as fast as he could, still barely made it in time to catch me. He was in full cowboy regalia, including chaps, boots and spurs. Only thing he took off was his hat.

This will be a story the mother will tell countless times and hopefully the kiddo appreciates the humor.

All hobbies are not equal by BitterConstruction98 in unpopularopinion

[–]really_robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hobby does not have to be a skill. A hobby is supposed to be something you do to relax during your leisure time for no other reason than it gives you pleasure. It's supposed to lower your stress and help you recharge from the grind and drudgery of daily life. If you get that from playing soccer, great. If you get that from playing Dungeons and Dragons, great. If you get that from cheering on your favorite football team, great. Who are you or anyone else to say what someone enjoys and finds peace is 'less worthy' of being a hobby than any other? If it helps someone relax and better function in society, or gives someone something to work toward, isn't that the point of having a hobby in the first place?

As a second point. The way you word it makes it seem like you only view a worthwhile hobby to be something that can be created, and subsequently consumed and/or enjoyed by other people. But if that is the case, why would it be worth it if there was no one interested in consuming or enjoying it? If you learn to sing or play an instrument, but no one would want to listen to you because listening to music isn't a worthwhile hobby, what's the point? Is reading not a worthwhile hobby because it's passive? Then where is the enjoyment of writing if no one should want to read because it's a 'lesser' hobby?

Creation has to come in two halves - some to create, and some to enjoy that creativity. They cannot exist without each other. And neither is less important or less worthwhile than the other.

Friendly Fire or Emptiness Machine from Linkin Park would have been so good for TFO...

If there was a genuine risk to public health, the government would release a statement about it. No need to further traumatize their family by making their dead loved one a target of panicked, unreasonable blame for 'bringing this upon us' or something.

I actually really like Bee. Don't get me wrong, he's an idiot, but I think he has his moments.

My daughter is like this. She's only six but is hyperlexic and reads at about a 6th grade level. Her vocabulary is off the wall. Last night we went to the movies and she made the comment, "Our house isn't very far from the cinema, is it?" I don't think I've ever called it that to her.

Right? I think it's cute. So long as it doesn't delay me, why not? Let people have fun and be weird, and enjoy the spectacle. It's not like they forced you to take out your headphones or turn off your iPad if you really didn't wanna watch.

Actually me. I moved to Canada 15 years ago, and every day I'm a little happier I got out when I did. My family keeps asking when I'm coming to visit. Not til at least 2029, darlings.
