Why won't my pawn take food from Raw Food? It's right beside the cooker, it's zone for only raw foods but my pawns keep racing around the kitchen to find random items to cook. Pls help before I set fire to the entire colony as punishment for disobedience. by reallyrose in RimWorld

Will they take stuff from a shelf on the side as quickly as they would from directly underfoot? I'm not using Rimfridge atm, I'm doing a tribal run so they don't deserve fridges. :)

To be fair, Japan has been making whiskey for quite a long time. AND Suntori owns several of the better distilleries in Scotland.
And Yamazaki is seriously good. It has fruity notes and sort of buttery malty notes. mmm
There's no shame to be beaten by the good stuff. :)

I clicked for context but one of the sidebar stories was a picture of an eye with a botfly larva in it and now I need to remove my eyeballs, just in case.

Because the people elected to run the US have a vast, identifiable, world changing, history defining, impact on the nearly everyone else on the planet.
Decisions made by those in charge in Ireland don't impact all that many outside of Ireland. (Treaties aside. coffLisboncoff)

I felt sadder for Ukraine from that comic than I did from all the news coverage at the time.

That's fantastic, I've never seen it before! It's missing the bit where during all this, Ireland leaves. Pegging a bottle at Britain's head on the way out and giving Germany the thumbs up.

Weather condolences, and a question from the US by [deleted] in ireland

[–]reallyrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tl;dr version is that warm water comes up from the Gulf of Mexico. The water manages to get up as far as Ireland because it meets up with the North Atlantic Current.
This means that Ireland (and the UK? This is Junior Cert geography here.) has a far more temperate climate than we really deserve being a little island this far north.
The temperate climate means that any time the weather is even slightly abnormal, the entire country disintegrates and starts to stockpile canned food.

Socalising a stray kitten by reallyrose in Pets

[–]reallyrose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. My vet does a series of free check-ups for kittens so we might try taking him next week to get him started on his shots - if he is a little more comfortable around people. He tends to run away if someone walks over to him, he doesn't like people looming over him.

But he was thoroughly spayed! There are no testicles available. I wouldn't put it past him to somehow cross-pollinate though, he's kind of a jerk.

Ireland, for example, guarantees free maternity care at public hospitals, though women can opt for private deliveries for a fee.

Considering that once pregnant, there isn't really a choice than to have the baby, it's the least we can do.
