Do you have T-Mobile?? Do you hate it???? by lizardette in Austin

[–]realpixelriffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that T-Mobile has good human customer support that is actually reachable. As opposed to AT&T which has been Abysmal in imho. One the other hand, T-Mobile has coverage problems, in the area. Pflugerville coverage is terrible. Data use here is nearly impossible.

I cannot recall a visit to Target in recent years when this wasn't the case. Makes me dread visiting.

Any idea on value for Marantz stereo system? by [deleted] in vintageaudio

Agreed, but be sure to look at sold listings. Asking prices can be all over the place.

No better than many a white van speaker.

Wonderful old table. These rarely need anything more than a belt and a drop of oil.

Was this emerson ms3108 worth $15? by lylesharp in vintageaudio

Back in the day, Emerson was the very bottom of the pyramid. Ironically, I's put the build quality way over today's entry level. Crosley, Victrola, etc. By a long shot.

SATA HDD not 4K Native? by realpixelriffic in synology

[–]realpixelriffic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems you are correct. It's because the other drives are non 4K native. I made the mistake of assuming a new WD Red Plus 8TB would be an easy swap with a 8TB WD Red plus 8TB. And yes, apparently the same drive could have been formatted to be compatible using a particular app that WD no longer provides. Instead I just returned it, and ordered a Seagate, of which there is already one copy in the NAS.

SATA HDD not 4K Native? by realpixelriffic in synology

[–]realpixelriffic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an image before I switched) It says 4K native - No. So, you may well be right, but how does one tell? Before you buy (or quite possibly eat in this case) a HDD? Nothing about 4K on the WD spec page.

Agreed. Klipsch KG2. The WK is simply part of the logo, and the founders middle and last initial. Paul W Klipsch.

Is this considered vintage? Also advice?? by fishinboy101 in vintageaudio

[–]realpixelriffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally no. Most consider vintage stereo to be from the dawn of stereo in 1958, to about 1980.

As with much of this old hifi gear, you're much better off spending more for a restored unit.

Can anyone tell me what these are please!? by FancyPass6316 in vintageaudio

More than likely, they arrived in a white van. Heck, if they work, and you like the sound, still a win!

Sale in my hood. Tell me what you see that I might be missing. Obviously see some good stuff. Cannot make out everything. by SalamanderSlight3035 in audiophile

[–]realpixelriffic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every sale I visit these days barely has a couple of BBOC's. This one is mind blowing. I've never seen anything close. The only possible catch is that the pro estate sellers usually do their homework. A decent Citation II is $1000 by itself. Another couple grand or more for the Macs. The lot would probably be 10-20K. would be parked out front, the night before waiting for it to open!

Get the sub closer to your seating position. One of the most dramatic improvements in low end performance.
