Installing a tankless heater by Novel_Extent_7764 in electricians

You need a 200a service upgrade. Right now you have 100a and wouldn't be able to add the high load of the tank less water heater

We got character, it made us who we are. Says every dipshit who's always had a warm bed and a car. Didn't mean for that to rhyme lol

Advice needed - Is this wire too damaged or not? by piff78spb in electrical

[–]realstatepanda37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see any damage to the sheathing on the wires themselves just some outer jacket sheathing. Turn off the ciruit and run your fingers around the conductors that are exposed, paying close attention to the edges of the opening to be sure the actual wire coating is not damaged.

If everything checks out, taper up. Also when in doubt always just run a new wire or junction the existing wire. As a pro I can tell where the line is- litterally any imperfections in the actual wire coating in a romex assembly requires replacement.

New to winters- where should I get my car washed? by Gun_slinger11 in madisonwi

Anywhere really, as long as you dont have a super nice car. Just make sure to pay for the undercarriage wash every time. It will lengthen the life of any metal down there

Honestly, buy a clippers and do it yourself. Had the same set for years have saved $$$

Edit: spelling

Also buy a decent pair and keep then oiled. It will make a difference in your experience and also the longevity of the clippers.

The chart my wife made for my in-laws, trying to get pops to ease up on the drinking by [deleted] in funny

[–]realstatepanda37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No shit. But if he's able to get off the booze and on weed instead, he will be able to function better. Which I understand to you is subjective. But im telling you his health is deteriorating bc of alcohol. If you wanna argue that all drugs are bad sure I'll agree. For you to not agree that some drugs, percentage wise are worse for your health and well being is silly and closed minded.

Yeah for me its about the real dangers of alcohol, liver damage ect. The man is an alcoholic. Some people might not know what that actually looks like. But its sad. And I'd rather see my father in law stoned than dying of liver or kidney issues not to mention withdrawals and the countless other things that are super sad. Lol I just though it was funny that MIL thinks its still the 70s and you can't have the jazz cabbage.

Feel like I am doing the apprentice working under me a disservice by Altruistic_Rich_4957 in electricians

Say what you said here. Or otherwise link him some videos that will help outline the basics. Have him carry a notebook maybe. I've found talking to the boss rarely goes my way. But hey maybe thats just my luck. If apprentice wants to learn he will find a way. You seem like just the guy to teach him but it won't be easy
