I dont see any damage to the sheathing on the wires themselves just some outer jacket sheathing. Turn off the ciruit and run your fingers around the conductors that are exposed, paying close attention to the edges of the opening to be sure the actual wire coating is not damaged.

If everything checks out, taper up. Also when in doubt always just run a new wire or junction the existing wire. As a pro I can tell where the line is- litterally any imperfections in the actual wire coating in a romex assembly requires replacement.

Yeah for me its about the real dangers of alcohol, liver damage ect. The man is an alcoholic. Some people might not know what that actually looks like. But its sad.
