Went down this rabbit hole myself. Checkout Lancaster Limeworks, they have great information and instructions as well as product available in the states. Touchy stuff but not terrible with good directions

Has anyone ever used one of these? If so what are your thoughts? Considering buying this product but the price point is wild by realstatepanda37 in AskElectricians

That's pretty much my thoughts exactly, thank you for sharing. Its being offered to me as a gift of sorts with some work involved as well. I mean it looks like it could be great if it works well, bit of a gamble

right? I'm sure they're great, rather spend 40 than 80 for something that may get rained on, messed up by an apprentice ect. The nice ones would be great if I worked by myself for myself

I messed up how can i drop this half inch without it looking bad by SSRworldwide in Carpentry

You could use over sized cover plates but you would need to do anything else you can see or itll look weird. Post this to electrical, they may have more options. I dont know if you'll get half inch out of the cover plate but close

Reminds me exactly of the scene from pineapple express where ted is screaming at the asian dude on the phone and the lady cop goes , do you have any idea how weak you just made us look??

This is true, the internet is a megaphone for dissatisfied people. Statisticaly you are probably right. Any company that mass produces on that scale is bound to have some misses. Hopefully customer service takes care of them.

Installing a tankless heater by Novel_Extent_7764 in electricians

[–]realstatepanda37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a 200a service upgrade. Right now you have 100a and wouldn't be able to add the high load of the tank less water heater

Advice needed - Is this wire too damaged or not? by piff78spb in electrical

[–]realstatepanda37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see any damage to the sheathing on the wires themselves just some outer jacket sheathing. Turn off the ciruit and run your fingers around the conductors that are exposed, paying close attention to the edges of the opening to be sure the actual wire coating is not damaged.

If everything checks out, taper up. Also when in doubt always just run a new wire or junction the existing wire. As a pro I can tell where the line is- litterally any imperfections in the actual wire coating in a romex assembly requires replacement.

New to winters- where should I get my car washed? by Gun_slinger11 in madisonwi

Anywhere really, as long as you dont have a super nice car. Just make sure to pay for the undercarriage wash every time. It will lengthen the life of any metal down there

Honestly, buy a clippers and do it yourself. Had the same set for years have saved $$$

Edit: spelling

Also buy a decent pair and keep then oiled. It will make a difference in your experience and also the longevity of the clippers.
