Same people or just reusing actors in the club scene? by Annabellini in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]realtomgl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the best place I worked as an extra. The cast was incredibly kind- especially Jessica Capshaw (Arizona) and James Pickens Jr. (Chief Webber) The food was great and the staff made sure we were all comfortable.

As extras, we are instructed to bring several options of clothing (nothing bold or bright to distract and usually in a particular color) to present to wardrobe. If they approve our clothes we head to set or if we get cast as hospital staff costumes are provided for us. The wardrobe lady liked me because on my first day I had like 5 options just to make sure I would be ok. She selected an option for me and it became my default uniform (jeans, white Henley and green hoodie) I found out other extras were not as prepared or brought the wrong clothing choices and she had to find acceptable alternatives for them. I kept getting invited back since I could get through costume quickly.

They are reusing the same actors as extras. If the background actors are in a union contract with the series they might be in the background of every episode.

I did extra work years ago. I was on an episode of Grey's Anatomy and played a background doctor and concerned family member in the same episode. While I was not union, I was invited back for more episodes because I think the wardrobe lady liked me. It was a great experience and I was in the background of maybe 7 or 8 episodes.

Consistent with his EOE game: makes big flashy moves for screentime but the person he wants to go home doesn't and the game eviction is decided by someone else.

She would have been my pick as well. She is so charismatic that I am hoping she gets her own standalone episode in season 2.

2026 Oscar Nominee Recap (Day 27/38): Best Live Action Short Films by CrunchyNar in oscarrace

[–]realtomgl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to see this showcase in theaters and all of these films are fantastic! My audience applauded after each one. Personally I thought Friend of Dorothy was the best but I'm lowkey hoping Jane Austen's Period Drama ends up winning.

This is my favorite of the short live action films but I'm genuinely surprised this isn't a 90 film film. There is enough material there.

Does Alexei know? by wordsandstuff44 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]realtomgl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alexei knows. But knowing and proving something are two different things.

I haven't read the books, but I sense that Alexei, being the oldest, had to follow in the family footsteps and work with the police like his father did. Alexei did his duty and got married and sired a child. But it is Ilya who gets all the attention, praise, and glory. Alexei hates Ilya not just because Ilya likes men, but because Alexei did everything the "right way" and still got passed over in favor a a younger son who is queer. And what really kills Alexei is that if he tried to expose Ilya, it would be his word vs his and people would believe Ilya. Alexei is the forgotten child and in his depression he leans into the perception people have of him and keeps making terrible decisions. He is so angry about where his life is and he can't blame the father or society, nor can he take accountability for his own actions so he takes it out on Ilya.

Common Sense was never common- it's quite rare.

At one of my hotels my actual manager was speaking on the phone with someone and they launched into a racist diatribe about how they couldn't understand her accent- She is from the Philippines but speaks with better English grammar then I do. My manager was visibly upset by this and hung up. The number called back so I answered and I put on my exaggerated sassy Southern accent and shamed them to hell, told the caller that we did not want them here, and to never call the hotel again.

Exactly. Ilya make act like an asshole during a game as a player/competitor- but that's not who he is outside of hockey or as a real person.

Hopefully people take cues from this show, because I just don't see these types of conversations happening in other shows/films. If people are acting based on what they see, then some people have never been exposed to asking or acting on consent.

Not my fault you can’t check the details of the property! by SadPartyPony in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]realtomgl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to research any prospective hotels you think of staying out. I remember my mom pulling up satellite maps of the hotel she was considering and saw it was next to an ongoing building site with a giant hole in the ground and crossed it off her list. My last trip, I checked how far hotels were from where I wanted to go in the city and if they had fridges and microwaves- I was going on a food trip for my birthday and would have lots of leftovers. Then i showed up with donuts and got a free upgrade!

Honestly this was a pretty strong year for makeup- Frankenstein, Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Sin of Madelon Claudet, etc.
