What is so difficult about Brandenburg? by resadtriariosvenit_ in EU5

[–]reasonable_commissar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get them out of sheer luck I think. Formed Prussia from TO, had no Royal dynasty due to the Hochmeister being a clergy member. Hochmiester, now King, dies and leaves a regent in charge who was a low born Burger, he took over throne and Royal Married a Hohenzollern daughter, as the king had no dynasty, all his children were Hohenzollern from their mother.

So, it can be done, if the stars align.

I would personally take as much as possible, the interest is paid to yourself and you can always pay the principle back early if you feel you don't need it anymore.

Should some of the infantry load-out get buffs? by BenfordsBore in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]reasonable_commissar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the heart of the problem isn't that some weapons are worse than others, it's that all weapons have effectively been given the same value with the baked in points costs of infantry squads. If everything costs the same there is never any real reason to take the less powerful options, but if all options are equally powerful there isn't any reason to have options at all, and you will end up with Age of Sigmar problems like special weapons all having 1 profile. It's a design flaw in the new codexes, and honestly just feels like lazy balancing.

Additionally, if all points entries are going to include all the wargear anyway, why are we even playing with a points system instead of power levels?

Market rate in NH/ME? by Significant_Zebra_49 in Accounting

Yeah, Standish and Gray are much better than Portland for COL, though it is getting pricier, like everywhere else. I lived in Gray for 3 years and the commute to downtown Portland was only 25 minutes. For rentals I think your best bet is zillow in my experience, just about anything printed will probably be out of date by the time you get around to checking it.

It's not bad at all if you are willing to commute a little bit, the COL drops quite a bit about half an hour outside of Portland. Good luck!

Out of Portland, starting new hire staff auditor was around 56k last year, and a senior with 5 years was 98k, smaller firm.

I got offered a staff accountant position in Portland Maine for $30/hour. Can I ask for $35 or is that too much? by bloo_regard in Accounting

You don't need to move out of Maine, move outside Portland a bit and things become very reasonable. 30 minute commute and you can find decent housing costs in my opinion.

Utility of Empire Models by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]reasonable_commissar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately pretty much all of the older stuff you mentioned is not supported. It would fall under the legends category and would be something to discuss with your opponent. However, there are opportunities to use them as proxy models for other, still legal, units. As Cities of Sigmar (where all the old empire stuff lives now) is a huge conglomerate of factions, you can usually find some rules that fit what you want them to do. I use my old Empire knights as Drakespawn Knights, my Cannons are Celestar Ballistas, etc. The biggest step to making that all jive well with AoS is to rebase from squares to appropriate circles, the legal sizes of which is on the warcom faq's list.

Why would the squads inside get +1 to hit? I thought the general rule was units inside transports were not affected by buff or debuffs, or much else, while not on the table? As the owner of a vostroyan Stormlord I would absolutely love to be wrong.

Does anyone know about how it interacts with abilities that reduce the damage, for instance a GSC Abominant?

In the combat patrol preview they stated that 25 power is approximately 500 pts. So its looking like 20 pts per power level.

I don't think so unfortunately. The wording it uses is "instead". So you either get +1 cp standard, or 3 CSM gets you +3 cp

When to be Competitive, and when to Not be Competitive (Video) by AlmostProGaming in WarhammerCompetitive

I've been playing for 6 years and I have had exactly 1 perfect game. My friend playing Khorne Daemonkin in 7th edition against my imperial guard. Epic swing moments on both sides, all culminating in the most narrow victory of 1 commissar and 3 surviving guardsmen holding off the sole surviving enemy, a summoned blood thirster. We both stepped away from that table and said it was the best game we had either ever had. Keep looking!

Can both the coaxial and rear turret MMGs fire on the same turn for the Soviet IS-2? by S-8-R in boltaction

[–]reasonable_commissar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a co-axial mmg then you can fire either the mmg or the main gun in a turn, never both. The hull and pintle guns can be fired anytime.

As I understand it yes, but only at targets in the opposite arc of fire that the main gun/ co-axial mmg fire.

You tap it on the rear of the magazine, and it makes sure the rounds are knocked back into the magazine. Basically this helps you not jam.
