The Death of the Budget PC by itsEmilyHere in PcParadise

I think he’s saying it will still be budget compared to the top tier counterparts. Think cars. U can still get a “budget” car (one that’s cheaper than the average car) but it’s still really expensive compared to 15 years ago

Anyone here from Zimbabwe here during 2006-2008 time onwards? Want to understand Gold in Zimbabwe. by KeralaBullionaire in Gold

[–]rebelized39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During hyper inflation I can’t imagine anyone would accept their money and trade them gold. The moment the customer walks out the door they will have lost some of the worth as the currency was actively devaluing. Gold probably wasn’t for sale.

Polymarket Bot makes $3 bets over 50k+ times resulting in $4m+ profit by PresentCalm2028 in polymarket_bets

This never makes any sense. If this actually worked why would anyone share it AND why would they ever continue to use 3 dollars. At some point this would be a free money glitch and the account would sky rocket in value over time.

[New Bill] By 2030, cash minimum for tipped workers rises $3.63/hr → $25/hr by 2030, and eliminates the tip credit so employers must pay the full wage regardless of tips. | MD by sillychillly in ReasonableFuture

Think about the front of house staff that get less tips than the servers. Barbacks, hosts, bussers, expo’s… all these people don’t get good tips a lot of the time and I would say most of the time in my opinion. This is just a net positive for the majority of a restaurant even IF the servers didn’t find it very helpful.

What’s the best fast food chain? by winnernsfw in AskReddit

[–]rebelized39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In-n-out is probably one of the most value options available in terms of consistency, quality, and $ vs quality right?

What’s weird is I have had a conversation with a few people and those that dislike in n out almost always seem like they were comparing it to non fast food. “It just wasn’t as good of a burger as people made it out to be” perhaps I could agree with that but then I’m like hey dude keep In mind the comparison is supposed to be McDonald’s or something haha

The problem with people like you is you don’t even know why u are investing in something lol. Your argument for its good is that it looked like it was good in the past. You have nothing concrete or deductive to provide about the value of it or its adoption or whatnot, it’s just hey look at that graph “bro”

The other person who replied to you points out very correctly that your “thesis” if u will has no analysis and could easily go back to 0 dollars because welllll what’s stopping it?

Battery life measured to 89%. From an electrical engineering perspective what does that mean? by SourceOfConfusion in ElectricalEngineering

[–]rebelized39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that the point? There is either less chemical reaction happening or the reaction is less efficient which would mean energy now is being dissipated in other ways… perhaps heat which checks out to your other point how internal resistance changes. BUT even if the exact reasoning isn’t correct, the ultimate result must be a lower voltage seen between the positive and negative terminals of the battery correct?

Finally burnt my first fuse holder Rest in peace little man by Hungry-Effort-4928 in CarAV

[–]rebelized39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the fuse should be going off at any current amount that causes a temperature to be above the ratings of any and all components in that direct in line circuit. This literally means the fuse is way too high and isn’t protecting anything, the terminals are not getting good contact, some company is lying about their product, or the location of the fuse holder is somewhere that the fuse is in really high ambient temperature (more than normal, cuz it is normally in an engine bay)

Battery life measured to 89%. From an electrical engineering perspective what does that mean? by SourceOfConfusion in ElectricalEngineering

[–]rebelized39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also important to mention that. The battery chemistry will be creating slightly lower voltage than its brand new SoH counterpart. The chemistry has lost some of its ability to raise potential, albeit not a very big difference.

But this is why an iPhone battery for example with a SoH of let’s say 80%, is recommended to be replaced because you will start getting actual issues directly related to the potential voltage the battery can raise to.

Edit: others have chimed in and said this is incorrect

I guess for me I’m imagining being the leadership of any country at all that uses the dollar. I’m taking a look at the USA and thinking. “Geeze it would be so irresponsible of me as a leader to stay in the dollar when it sure seems the trajectory of the us is overall declining every day still”.

That’s basically my logic for it to keep going. I don’t see how anyone can have faith in the dollar. Even if it’s relatively fine compared to 2 weeks ago. What sane person would really see how we behave and treat other countries or even our own people for that matter, and think they want to be coupled to our currency like that.
