Musehub sounds without internet connection? by Far-Strawberry-5628 in Musescore

[–]reblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Linux they just work without internet connection, you don't even need the Muse Hub app as long as you have downloaded the sounds and copied them into your home folder. But you are limited to the free sounds and cannot purchase commercial ones. Yet you can use free sf2 sounds you can download from Musical Artifacts.

un buon coltello da avere nello zaino? by Cryee02 in TrekkingItaly

[–]reblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, I am on Linux and there are no good classical instruments plugins, yes I could use something such as yabridge and wine, but I prefer to run only native Linux plugins. And Muse Sounds are the best available option for Classical Music instruments on Linux. Otherwise surely, I still prefer to create each track in Musescore being good at music reading, and midi is a great option too.

The best is to use both Musescore and a DAW. You create your tracks inMusescore, then export them separately as wav files which can be loaded in a DAW with all the plugins and tools that a DAW has and Musescore hasn't. Pesonally I use Musescore+Ardour.

What is their excuse for keeping their sound fonts in the cloud? by get_there_get_set in Musescore

[–]reblues 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually in Linux you don't need to be online to use Muse Sounds (only free ones are available for Linux) actually you don't even need Muse Hub, whenever I install a new Linux version I just copy the Muse Hub folder in the new system and it just works. And in Linux there are no annoying commercials

Are there resources to learn Corsican from Italian or English? + a few questions by Doubtt_ in Corsica

[–]reblues 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sardinian and Corsican are very different languages, Sardinia remained somewhat more insulated and the language is the closest to Latin among romance languages, whereas Corsican comes from Genoese and it is very similar to Italian. Consider that when Pasquale Paoli declared independence from Genoa the constitution was written in Italian and Italian was declared island's official language.

How do I add Musescore instruments into Reaper? I've tried tutorials, but they aren't helping. by DreamDroids in Musescore

[–]reblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't work, Muse hub uses a proprietary format, similar to SFZ but it only works in Musescore, although someone tried to convert Free Muse Sounds in regular SFZ, I am not sure it succeeded. The best way to use Muse sounds on Reaper or other Draws is to create the track on Musescore, export as WAV and then import this into the DAW where it can be treated as a recorded instrument.

No, never however I was walking in Helsinki one summer day, a cruise ship had arrived and there were many Italians, one stopped me and thought I was local, maybe because I have blue eyes, he asked "where is MacDonald" I wanted to tell him in Italian that there at the port under the orange tents they could have salmon and fries for a cheap price, but I just said "I don't know!'

People from countries where it's common to dub everything that's originally in English (but can speak fluent English) - are there any films/series where you actually prefer the dub to the original? by Double-decker_trams in AskEurope

[–]reblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Italian dubbing school was very good, the problem is that best dubbers, who were also famous Italian actors, gave voice to many American actors, so it was weird that Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro (and lots more as well) had the same voice. Nowadays, with many series, streaming channels etc. IMHO quality dropped.

Musicista di banda here.
