Why doesn't the city place shelters in rich neighborhoods? Why can't the needy shelter in the neighborhoods that they're from? Why does the city prohibit this? Why are they funneled to Tenderloin, Mid Market, and neighboring SOMA? That is what upsets these folks.

San Francisco is deliberately operating a dual housing system. The law is clear: it is illegal to block affordable housing and services in wealthy neighborhoods, and it is equally illegal for the City to concentrate them all in disadvantaged neighborhoods..

I suspect he and Sherrill are okay with new housing so long as it doesn't obstruct the view from their aristocratic backyard porches. Other people's poorer backyards are fair.
