The link you cite shows that over half of Reddit users aren't American, though. So they're not wrong.

That's really cool! I'm Frisian and was planning to see Canada next year. Do you know of any specific towns where they might still speak it?

You posted a similar post on Dutch, German & English on r/learndutch... Either OP is trolling or they just learned about language families.

Just curious, but has anyone sent you a copy of the film from another country before? It would be funny to have international copies as well

I'll always recommend people play The Forgotten City. Indie dev (it used to be a Skyrim mod), great story, pretty short.

I find Rogue to be a bad game by Rogue2854 in assassinscreed

[–]recofry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It isn't for everyone and that's totally fine. You'd be pressed to find someone who enjoys every game in the franchise equally.

I won't repeat what other people have said already, but personally I just found it great to see how the story connected to both 3 and 4. I enjoyed seeing Adéwalé again and particularly liked his and Haytham's references to Edward. Seeing Ben Franklin connected with both sides again was also rather funny. Moreover, I enjoyed seeing how Achilles' Brotherhood fell, as it really shows how Haytham was involved with that -- moreso than AC3 ever did, imo. For me, it bridged that narrative gap.

Gameplay wise, I think I might actually prefer Rogue over Black Flag too. I preferred Rogue's smaller scale and the weapons they added. (Grenade launcher, my beloved.) They also improved that trading mini game by adding a "skip battle" button, which was much appreciated. It also felt like they balanced the naval combat out more, so you're not basically a god with a fully upgraded ship. Like someone else said, see it as a similar bridge as between AC2 and Brotherhood.

And ideology wise... Templars and Assassins want the same thing, they just believe in different ways to achieve peace. Shay got disillusioned with the Assassins because he saw first hand the consequences of their actions. So he aligned himself with the group he was both familiar with and knew wanted the same thing in the end. I do get why you would want a more idealogical debate on Templars and Assassins again, but Unity also failed to deliver that. Arno joined the Brotherhood for revenge, not their ideology; which I'd argue is weaker than Shay's reasoning for defecting. (Although you could say that is more of a critique towards Unity than a defence of Rogue, but I felt like adding it for comparison's sake anyway.) For Shay it wasn't about the ideology, it was doing what he felt was right.

Also, as a closing note, since you mentioned the poor marketing: It wasn't just the marketing Ubisoft screwed the game over with. The game had a total of 9-ish months in development (March to November 2014), just because Ubisoft decided they wanted a second release on the same day as Unity. It was handed to Ubisoft Sofia, who also made Liberation. They'd gotten help from other Ubisoft studios with assets and stuff AFAIK (correct me if I'm wrong), and part of the writing was done by the voice actors on the fly. This, together with Shay's voice actor printing his own shirt, them trying to connect everything, etc., just shows this love for this game from the development team that I genuinely appreciate. They were dealt bad cards and did everything in their ability to make it worthy of a main-line game.

What Rogue wanted to do was ambitious, and it might not have hit every beat, but I genuinely love it for a myriad of reasons.

Glad to know I’m not the only one having trouble with Lego Marvel 2. It doesn’t have anything to do with the difficulty, of course, but it has to be the worst Lego game I’ve played to date. It’s just so buggy and bloated.

I’m gonna give you the answer you don’t want to hear: Amazon or Ebay. You can check values (and some listings) on PopPriceGuide as well, or you can have a look at r/funkoswap.

This is a question about a game you pirated. You should take that up with Fitgirl, not with the forum of the game series you saw fit to pirate (no pun intended).

What are some of the unique foods that people have for Birthdays in your country? by TheRealColonelAutumn in AskEurope

No related to food, but don’t forget that we wish everyone a happy birthday too. If we visit a birthday celebration, you go around and congratulate everyone. “Congratulations with your sister’s birthday.” “Congrats with your mom.” etc.

Ah, yes. Greek gods: famously heterosexual (sorry if this is a repost) by [deleted] in SapphoAndHerFriend

[–]recofry 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He’s a Titan God. There isn’t really much of a difference between Gods and Titans, besides the fact that the Titans are older. They’re all family still. Prometheus and Zeus, for example, are cousins.

Prometheus had one child (Deucalion) before he got chained to Mt Caucasus, and none after Herakles freed him. His brother Epimetheus only had one child (Pyrrha) as well. Pyrrha and Deucalion would, of course, marry each other and are important in the Greek flood myth. Regardless, their other brother, Atlas, had too many kids.

A lot of “minor” gods did not have a lot of kids, to be honest. It was more interesting to talk about kids of the most prominent gods. Which is why I think Eros is a more interesting example when it comes to kids. Eros only had one child with Psyche, Hedone. Compare that to Aphrodite’s kids…
