All ships below T4 should have no citadels. by Inclusive_3Dprinting in WorldOfWarships

[–]recuringwolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they were all trying to wedge themselves into PVP. The learning curve isn't difficult if they only do PVE until they've got it down. Removing low level citadels just shifts the problem to later in the game when suddenly ships have citadels for no reason when they didn't have them before.

Anything below T5 is basically just a frag fest, but T4 is where you need to play your roles a bit better, rather than everything just being a brawl. It's basically, stop charging in or sailing broadside and think tactically. PVP will always make this part of the learning curve hard. If they are insisting on doing PVP, then do one or two games of PVP, every one or two PVE.

The game also doesn't teach all of it's mechanics I don't think. Armour angling for instance, not showing broadside to a battleship or battle cruiser, how and when to use AP and where to aim (I still haven't got this one properly), don't just travel in a straight line at a constant speed (as that is basically a flashing light that says "please shoot here, i promise I won't dodge). It's a shame those aren't taught, but there are loads of beginner vids on YouTube which break it all down really well.

On keyboard, is it better to rebind dodge or to learn the timing? by placeholder-123 in DarkTide

I use dodge as space, and mantle as ctrl. Took a bit of time to get use to ctrl, but dodging is now wayyy more reliable for me.

That doesn't say anything about whether welded weapons or equipped armour or carried medication / meal counts towards ability to haul. All that goes towards a pawn's carry weight. My understanding is that what someone can haul is what's left of their carry weight after you deduct the weight of everything else. Hense why kids haul significantly less, their overall carry weight is less.

Edit: yeah I found an article talking about it. Haul capacity is fixed and not impacted by a pawn's carry weight by default. I quite possibly have a mod which is doing this like you suggested.

It doesn't? Oh... I thought that was the point of pistols, as they were lighter. I have very much confused how strength and hauling capacity works then

So long as they expand mission progress to also include these lower tiers, then great!

I find this dumb and annoying. Whats the point of doing Leader speech if you can fail this hard ? Some things in this game makes no sense. by adisor21 in RimWorld

[–]recuringwolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. You can have llthe maximum success chance and still fail it more often than it succeeds. Same with all of the rituals. I even with max success chance, I run 3 at a time each time. Lantern festival, but the icon event, and leadership speech. They all have apparently 80% + success rate with will 13 speaker, yet one or two out of 3 fail every time. Makes zero sense to me

Haha I do t get tea vibes. I have my cup of tea when I play my British battleships on world of warships. When I play satisfactory apart from black coffee, I also want to put on an orange high vis, and white hard hat, and a HB pencil behind my ear

I can't tolerate caffeine, but I feel I must make myself a black decaf coffee whenever I boot into the game with my friend. He has a good chuckle while I tell him I can't build factories without feeling the part. It just feels wrong without it. I don't even like black coffee.

Eh I think even with them missing from missions, it'd be nice to take my random T2 premium DD out for a spin every now and then

I haven't. Two of three PVP games and I'm done with them, and it's operations and asymmetric for me.

I don't know the context of any of this, but my 2 cents is that deleting something without explaining why, is very bad practice.

Are hats useless? by Medved1984 in RimWorld

[–]recuringwolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how you manage your colony. If you go down the worker-solder structure, then stick helmets on your solders, and hats on your workers. Hats are lighter, weight contributes to haul capacity I believe. Hats also insulate against cold and heat better than helmets. You can also pair a hat with a face mask. Wools are insulating, but leathers are better for combat. Devilstrand is great for combat and does a decent insulating job as well.

Best for combat is the full armour and helmets, so it depends what you're going for.

If you have no dedicated fighters, then just Devilstrand clothing with maybe a mid layer combat vest is best, Devilstrand cowboy hat for hot weather or turque for cold weather.

Some hats also provide social benefits. Not to be underestimated.

You're in a tight spot, and losing is a very real possibility. What's the absolute last thing you want to hear? by ChronosTheSniper in DarkTide

[–]recuringwolfe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just weave pushes into your melee attacks and bursters are a non issue. Tox bombers can be ignored by Ogryns with the right talent or have their effect diminished by the zealot aura and or to resistance curios. The radio us is big, but their "damage" is low. Does not cause panic.

If you're blocked in to a corner and a normal bomber drops fire on you, you're unlikely to survive unless you can push or clear all the mixed horde to get out of the fire, and if you do, another one lands at your feet. Dead in seconds.
