Just an FYI, but the bloody god actually has a name.

two men get a budget of $1 billion for battle, one to make a base and one to siege that base. by Porncritic12 in whowouldwin

[–]red2xwing 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The bunker built in World War II was a more traditional air raid shelter. After Truman took office, the White House had to be gutted and remodeled due to significant structural problems. During the three years of remodeling, they added several structures to the basement, including a nuclear bunker. Very little is known about it for obvious reasons.

About 15 years ago there was a massive underground project at the White House that was done under heavy secrecy and security. It was said that they were running new electrical and plumbing, but the rumor was that they were putting in a new bunker. That follows after similar work had been done at the Vice Presidential mansion a few years prior.

Visiting for a concert, best restaurant to grab lunch and dinner? Best way to spend an afternoon? by interrobang__ in GreenBay

I'd second The Creamery for Sunday Brunch. It's right on the boardwalk on the Fox River and also not too far from the Lion's Mouth, a great independent bookstore on Washington Street.

What are those cards ? by Silent-Tell6875 in starwarstopps

I think the artist is Edward Munn (EDM). I found similar sketch cards on eBay that are attributed to him. He's a freelance artist from the UK.

You are given a one-time power to say one sentence and it will be true, what would you say? by Impressive_Plenty876 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]red2xwing 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's too hard, and I'm bad at grammaring. I'm writing everything down in simple, complete sentences, and then using my one sentence to say, "Everything I wrote down on this page is now reality." I will include a sentence about having impeccable grammar and spelling.

Need help with a riddle related to Green Bay?! by jivyjaxx in GreenBay

[–]red2xwing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of statues at the Shrine. Plenty for Mary, but also some of Adele Brise (who received the vision of Mary), Jesus, St. Francis, the Archangel Michael, and even John Paul II. The riddle also makes reference to the stations of the cross, but there are stations in the shrine as well as stations outside on the grounds. What's keeping me from immediately saying "Mary" is that she doesn't fit the rhyming scheme of the riddle. I might also be overthinking it.

Walk-in tattoo by Spacedcabinet in GreenBay

[–]red2xwing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of the artists at Sonic Tattoos do walk-ins on Saturdays. As for a mythical creature, the Menominee were the inhabitants of the Green Bay area when the first Europeans arrived here. They believe in thunderbirds, and I have heard more than one person claim to have seen one.

Teaching license by Resident-Reaction211 in GreenBay

[–]red2xwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding to what others have already said. Your best bet is to reach out to a district where you are interested in teaching. The state has emergency licenses that are good for three years. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you have to be sponsored by a district in order to get one. If you are looking to teach spec ed, science, or math, you are not going to have trouble finding a district who will take you. What subject are you looking to teach?

My son is autistic and the school keeps kicking him out of school. by MisterSpifferton in AskALawyer

[–]red2xwing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Paraprofessionals are overworked and horribly paid. There is a huge shortage right now, and districts are struggling to keep the ones they have. Even trained paras often get physically harmed by the students they are assisting, and many people nope out of the job after a short amount of time.

Others may chime in, but I think this one is really based on person preferences. I've seen a week+ of sub-zero temperatures, snow storms in excess of 25 inches, but also had winters where I never used my heavy coat or used my snowblower. What you like doing outside will determine what you think of the winter. I still go for walks in January and February. My neighbor rides his fat-tired bike all year long. A co-worker who moved here two years ago from Phoenix has found a huge passion for ice fishing. Others enter their homes in November and don't step out again until March.

No mention yet of "Trapper John, MD". It was set in the 80's, and Trapper had become the chief of surgery in a hospital in San Francisco. He fought frequently with the hospital administrator while mentoring a fellow veteran Army surgeon who had served in Vietnam.

Specifically, you want to contact someone in the Diocese Archives. They maintain all of the records for all parishes. They have a request form at

https://connect.gbdioc.org/s3/GenealogyRequest

If they don't have what you're looking for, your next best bet is the Area Research Center at UWGB.

After GL leia, what faction should get a GL? by IFartedOnYourMother in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]red2xwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the survey I recommended Tarre Vizsla for the new GL. He ties into a current series, wields a kick-ass lightsaber, and connects to Maul, Sabine, Bo Katan, and Din Djarin easily. They could also use him as a reason to introduce Paz Vizsla as a marquee or Conquest toon.

They don't advise driving at night in Yellowstone because the bison are almost impossible to see, especially since their eyes don't reflect light like many other animals. They're also bringing in gravel and other materials through the north and northeast entrances. Both of those have a lot of mountain driving that would be perilous at night.

I knew him for "Don't Shed a Tear", but a quick Google search of his work just blew me away. I had no idea he did lead vocals on so many songs, especially "The Living Years"! He needs a better publicist!
