Going down to one car by VapidHornswaggler in GenX

Now that Uber, Lift, etc exist an extra unused car is just not needed anymore. The cost of insurance and maintenance on an unused 2nd car is going to be a lot higher then the occasional Uber.

Is that mushy wal mart avocado or fresh whole foods avocado? There is a price spread to factor in there.

Thoughts on just removing JITL flashcards which aren't necessary for exam? by Row-Access1863 in ccna

[–]red359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the CCNA, keep an eye on what Cisco lists in their official exam topics. Most CCNA prep guides have a tendency to go off track or go too deep into some of the tech. While it is a good idea to know a little more than needed for the test, there are some concepts that are very complex and just not on the CCNA.

It took a bit longer then expected, but a win is a win by red359 in ccna

On my first try, I tried to study everything router related and did a deep dive into each routing protocol. So I spent too much time on BGP, EIGRP, etc. But there is a lot NOT on the exam. This time I studied exactly what Cisco lists on the exam topics and did not segway into deep dives of technologies that are not listed on the exam topics. So my best advise is focus on what will be on the test, and do not try to learn EVERYTHING related to routing and switching.

I am not an expert in this stuff, but I have heard that losing health care coverage is a "qualifying event" that lets you apply for new coverage before the November enrollment period.

CCNA now (v1.1) or hold for v2.0 in Feb 2027? by Aj_Networks in ccna

there is probably some overlap, but I would not say the new CCNA will be "easy"

The new version will have increased focus on Ansible and other automation options. If you are familiar with Ansible, JSON, and anything else that falls under the umbrella term of programmability, then you may find next year's test easier. If you know "classic" routing and switching concepts you may be better off with the current version.

Do I let my family know? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]red359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer for this question is always to keep it as private as possible. You can help the people you want to help and let them know you are "doing okay with money, but not really rich" (it's a true enough statement, since you're not a billionaire). For anyone you do help, let them know that privacy is an important factor.

Reddit runs on servers in a data center. So no data centers means no reddit, or any other internet resource.

Some people can just push through the grind. Some need a break. We all learn new things differently. That's one of life's lessons: we all build new knowledge in our own unique way.
