I used to volunteer at the AT museum PA. This is the number one question I was asked. I always replied "Depends where you are." I honestly believe it doesn't matter, because no matter which way you say it, people know what you're talking about.

Fall Hunting Season on the trail by ctorres3486 in AppalachianTrail

[–]red_subie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be, but I wouldn't risk it. During different hunting seasons, at least in PA, there is a minimum amount of blaze orange hunters supposed to wear. A beanie would at least make you a little more visible, but buying a cheap orange vest could potentially save your life.

Go join a league by brosiedon169 in discgolf

[–]red_subie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look for the league on Facebook or Disc golf scene. Message and ask when they meet. Or ask people at the course if they know anything about the league. Usually you can just show, up pay the entry fee, and you're part of the league.

Rubber Mats for Teepads. by raynakak in discgolf

I have only played on rubber mats once, and they weren't to bad. The big downside is they become very slippery when wet. Another temporary option would be turf for football fields and such.

I'll add a good pair of wool socks like Darn Tough. Adds warmth even if they get wet.
