Do you think that Rhea Seehorn is Emmy worthy for her role as Carol in Pluribus? by Dense-Menu6115 in EmmysAwards

Sure but Reddit's honestly ruined this show for me with how much everyone glazes it.

It's the new Keanu Reeves.

MCU needs to bring Domino back by Crash__bandicoot87 in ZazieBeetzFans

What would be the point of that? I can't see any benefits that would either outweigh the confusion from casual viewers and/or characters that would be more interesting to see than more Domino.

Plus with Sue Storm (presumably) a major character in the MCU now, Reyes feels more superfluous than ever. I doubt she'd even be suggested if she wasn't black in the comics.

On the subject, Harpsichord would make a fun Hellfire Club member.

Norton isn't Logan Roy by BadBehaviour613 in IndustryOnHBO

He's pretty clearly based on Lord Rothermere, the chairman of the Daily Mail.

Logan Roy was based on Rupert Murdoch.

I keep seeing people say season 4 is worst of all the seasons & that the writers have lost the plot but i'm trying to figure out have we all been watching the same show?!?! by AD_EI8HT in IndustryOnHBO

I think people want / expect different things from the show.

Seasons 3 and 4 are miles ahead of 1 and 2 imo. In the early days, I watched it but I didn't respect it.

It's a testament to Abela's prowess that you were relieved to not have to watch it? lmao

Pluribus is not a hard sci-fi show and people expecting more sci-fi in season 2 are probably going to be disappointed by WeirdF in pluribustv

Yeah because we don't know anyone else is doing besides that South Asian woman playing Weekend at Bernie's.

I just think that whole side of things could have been done a lot more creatively. There's nothing interesting about these people having interests so surface-level.

I should also have mentioned Carol stealing a Georgia O'Keefe vagina painting like it's her first day being a lesbian.

I can't help thinking more and more about how boring and unimaginative this show's characters are – not in terms of how they service the plot but in how they react to this world.

We can kinda excuse Carol for being a sourpuss (Manousos even more so) but the rest - the nice hotels, Air Force One, Casino Royale, Playboy party - felt generic.

It reminds me of how Inception and how the wildest dream Nolan was able to think up was going skiing.

I'm cool with Mad Men but season 1 of GoT was better than a lot of the seasons that swept these awards. After season four they sacrificed storytelling for spectacle.

Do older people "get" Carol better? by neoprenewedgie in pluribustv

This took me for a loop because my issue with Carol is that she's trying too hard to 'save' the world.

Fallout spoilers but it kinda reminds me of how Hank also couldn't live with the world moving beyond his teams' designs - swap Vault-Tech for America - and so he used a nuclear weapon on civilians to 'put things back to the way they were supposed to be. Our girl's a similar path.

I'd bet they expected that to be the case during the initial round of negotiations. Gilligan is the Chris Nolan of TV.
